Y’all know us — if Disney says the word “new food,” we’ll come running.
So when Disneyland tells us there are new Halloween treats to try, or there are new foods coming for Dia de Los Muertos, or when new items get added to menus, we are going to be FIRST in line to try those out. So we’re heading to two Disneyland restaurants to check out a TON of new food and drinks!
First, we’re headed to River Belle Terrace, which is not only offering new food for lunch and dinner but also offering a new brunch service. Brunch? Hello?!?!? We are in! But there’s something else going on here, too. For the first time EVER, alcohol is now being offered here. Before now, only a select few Disneyland restaurants were serving alcohol. But now things are changing!
You’ll find a new cocktail PLUS wine and beer on the menu at River Belle Terrace now.

Let’s talk about the new signature cocktail here. It’s the Wildberry Mule for $18 and it’s made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Blackberry Purée, Lime and Ginger Syrup, and Blackberries. This is a refreshing drink that’s light on the alcohol and ginger. Each sip is full of berry flavor, though.
A new non-alcoholic beverage is also on the menu now — the Mississippi Mud Pie for $8.50. It’s made with Sprite, Chocolate Fudge Syrup and Cream, topped with Whipped Cream, and Crumbled Chocolate Cream Cookies. This drink, well, it’s not as good as the boozy drink we had. It reminded us of Yoo-Hoo, which is certainly an acquired taste (and not one our reporter is a big fan of). A Cast Member also advised us to stir it up well, which is 100% necessary. The Sprite in the drink reminded us of something from an old-fashioned soda shop, like an Egg Cream.
Because we visited at brunch, we had a chance to try the Signature Pancakes for $15. They’re served with a Cream Cheese Frosting, Apple Wood Smoked Bacon, and Breakfast Sausage. The pancakes were PUMPKIN-flavored, but not TOO pumpkin, if you know what we mean. It was like eating a pumpkin loaf or muffin — just PERFECTLY fall. The pancakes had a nice sweetness and were lightly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
The dollop of cream cheese frosting with the berries (shaped to look like a Mickey, OF COURSE) was a nice addition.
The bacon also worked well with the pancakes, but there was something off about the sausage. The texture was strange. If we had to order this again, we’d just order double bacon and skip the sausage. We’d also like to point out that this is a VERY rich dish, so be prepared to walk away feeling full.
But wait, because we’re just getting started. We then hopped over to Carnation Cafe, which also just got some new food PLUS alcoholic beverages.
So let’s start with the booze. There’s a Peach Pie Margarita, y’all, with Patron Silver Tequila, Peach Purée, Sweet & Sour Mix, Lime Juice, and Lime Garnish for $18. If you love peaches, this is THE margarita for you — it has a lot of rich peach flavor, then you get JUST a hint of the alcohol after, but it’s very light. It’s like drinking peach pie (hence its name).
We also got the non-alcoholic Orange Cream Soda for $8.50. This is another Sprite-based drink with Candied Orange Syrup and Cream, with a Candied Orange Slice. Well, so far, Disneyland is 0 for 0 in the non-alcoholic category. This was pretty, but it tasted like Orange Crush with skim milk. Ew. The best part? The gummy candy. Maybe kids would like it?
For the record, we thought Fried Pickles, one of the best things to get on the menu here, would go great with the drinks. We were not wrong. These are Hand-battered Panko Fried Dill Pickles with House Sauce for $10.
We’ve got one more restaurant on our list, and that’s Cafe Orleans, which also has new food and alcohol (Disneyland is winning at the alcohol game right now). Yes, we’d usually order up a Monte Cristo, but we’re here for two New Orleans-inspired drinks and the returning Potato and Sausage Soup.
Let’s start with the drinks. The House Hurricane is made with Pimm’s No 1, Bacardi Superior Rum, Orange Juice, Strawberry Puree, Sweet & Sour Simple Syrup, and Orange Garnish for $18. We found this drink to be light on the alcohol (like the others we tried). This one is fruity and really quenches the thirst. The orange garnish is pretty, but warning: DON’T EAT IT. The Pimms does come in as an aftertaste, but this is like a great Tiki-type drink.
We also tried the non-alcoholic Bayou Punch for $8.50. It’s made with Minute Maid Lemonade Zero Sugar, Orange Juice, Strawberry Puree, and an Alligator-shaped Gummy. FINALLY, we found a great non-alcoholic drink! It’s fun, super fruity, and reminds us of a drink we had as kids called Five Alive.
Okay, let’s talk about the Potato and Sausage Soup. First, the description was misleading because we expected a creamy soup, but we got a brothy soup instead. The broth is sort of like an Italian Wedding Soup, and it’s rich and hearty but not something you’d want to eat on a hot day. We also feel like it should be served with bread for dipping or even served in a bread bowl. It just needed something ELSE.
So if you get a chance to visit Disneyland soon, just know that you have some new foods, as well as some new boozy options. We’ll keep an eye out for more new food and drinks, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

I wonder if the orange cream soda would be better with soda water instead of Sprite (done like an Italian cream soda). Sprite is just too sweet and has too much going on. It’s so unnecessary for a soda like that. I hate how it seems like every one of those sparkly drinks is made with Sprite.
