Planning a trip to Disney World in 2024? You might want to book those hotel reservations ASAP.
We’ve already shared a look at lies people believe about the Disney World hotels, the flaws with Disney’s hotels, and some Disney World hotels that you’ll HATE staying at. But which ones might be the hardest reservations to score in 2024? We’ve got you covered with a full list!
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
2024 could be a VERY popular year at Disney’s BoardWalk in general and especially over at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn for multiple reasons. The entire area has been undergoing a bit of transformation these last few years, with Carousel Coffee and BoardWalk Deli having arrived not all that long ago and the clown slide replaced with a Mickey design. But more big changes are on the way.
First, the rooms at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn are getting some updates, which could make this location a popular spot for those looking for the latest in Disney World accomodations.
The hallways and carpeting have been updated with teals, whites, and touches of black.
You’ll find some adorable Disney references as well so be on the lookout for those!
The rooms themselves are also looking refreshed…
…with some new artwork and more.
But it’s more than just updated rooms. The BoardWalk area is also set to get NEW restaurants soon. The Cake Bake Shop is set to open in 2023 and it’ll feature both a table service option and a to-go bakery. The Table Service restaurant will offer brunch, lunch, and dinner with both sweet and savory menus, and afternoon tea service will be offered too.
Quick treats will be accessible via the bakery case.
And there’s MORE. A new food kiosk from the folks at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs will also be opening on the BoardWalk and yes, the controversial PICKLE CORN DOG will be there! Blue Ribbon already operates a kiosk in Downtown Disney (at Disneyland Resort) but this will be their first location in Disney World.
The spot typically serves up elaborate creations like a Mexican Street Corn Dog, a Christmas Corn Dog, and even a Golden Dragon Corn Dog!
Just be warned that the bathrooms in the lobby at Disney’s BoardWalk seem to perpetually be closed. Hopefully, 2024 will bring a change to that.
And between the updated rooms and new restaurants, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn could be THE place to be in 2024.
Is this what we can expect when the Cake Bake Shop opens?!
Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Another spot that could be especially popular in 2024 is the Beach Club.
Part of the reason for that is because it is close to some of the newer things coming to Disney’s BoardWalk — The Cake Bake Shop and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. The Beach Club is within walking distance (though further than Disney’s BoardWalk Inn) to where these spots will be, making it another great choice if you’re all about experiencing new food.
But the Beach Club has some other reasons why it might be popular too. This hotel is also getting some updated rooms. Construction has been going on for a while and is set to be completed late in the fall of 2023, so 2024 should be a good year to visit once that work has wrapped up.
The new rooms feature updated pieces to match the new look and feel.
And you’ll find some references to Donald Duck in the room too!
There are also some updated carpets in the hallways.
The lobby here also recently underwent a bit of a refurbishment and now there are updated front desks in the lobby…
…with some beautiful artwork behind them.
Updated rooms with Donald Duck touches + easy walking access to new restaurants (+ all of the other great amenities at the hotel like the pool) = one potentially VERY popular spot. Book those Beach Club reservations early!

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Another hotel that’s getting some upgrades is Disney’s Grand Floridian. Right now, the hotel is quite the construction zone, with TONS of work being done on the outside…
Updated Disney Vacation Club rooms with a Mary Poppins theme are already available at the Grand Floridian, but once all of that construction is complete there will be more refurbished room spaces.
The lobby of the Grand Floridian is also set to get some updates and maintain its classic theming but also get some “fresh new enhancements.” Disney hasn’t specified when that work will be done, but things could be much closer to complete in 2024.
Plus, the Grand Floridian has recently seen some other changes. Citricos reopened in 2021 with an updated Mary Poppins Returns theming and Narcoossee’s reopened in 2023 with a NEW menu and updated theming as well.
All of those updates — particularly once the lobby gets its updates at the hotel — could make the Grand Floridian popular in 2024.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground might not be the first place that comes to your mind when considering hotels for 2024, but this place could be VERY popular that year. Why? Well, in 2024 BRAND NEW cabins are set to open in the campground.
According to Disney, there will be more than 350 refreshed cabins that’ll replace the existing ones. These new cabins will be part of the Disney Vacation Club resort lineup, but anyone will be able to book them (including those who aren’t DVC members).
The cabins will be able to sleep up to 6 adults, will have a bedroom, living room, bathroom, full kitchen, and private patio, and a select number will be dog-friendly. Disney has also hinted that the rest of the resort could get some updates including an updated pool and some enhancements on the walking trail.
On top of that, Trail’s End Restaurant recently reopened as a revamped/expanded Quick Service restaurant (that gives some major Costco vibes). There are new food items and some are served in bigger portions that could feed the whole family. See our full review here.
Crockett’s Tavern has also received a bit of a makeover and features new menu items and an updated look. You can read our FULL review of that here.
So whether you want newer cabins or NEW eats and drinks, Fort Wilderness is where it’s at for 2024.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (Late 2024)
Another spot that could be very popular in Disney World in 2024 is Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The hotel is already tremendously popular thanks to its restaurants with delicious food, monorail and walking access to Magic Kingdom, and more.
But 2024 will bring a whole other level of excitement to this hotel because that’s when the NEW Disney Vacation Club villas at the hotel are set to open. The rooms are expected to open in late 2024, so we expect the reservations later in the year for these specific rooms could fill up fast.
The rooms will be inspired by the early concepts of the hotel. ANd aside from the new rooms there will also be new recreational offerings and dining options.
We’ve actually seen a LOT of construction work going on here and things seem to be moving along.
There is (of course) still a lot of work to be done, but 2024 could be a really important year for this spot.

Later Into 2024 — Monorail Resorts in General
Later into 2024, the monorail resorts in general could also be of particular interest to some fans. Why? Well, because in late 2024, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure — the re-themed version of Splash Mountain — is set to open in Magic Kingdom. Those who want to be among the first to experience the attraction might opt to stay at a monorail resort so they can have quick access to Magic Kingdom and the ability to get in line as early as possible.
That could make these already popular hotels even more difficult to secure reservations for. Just keep in mind that an opening date for the new Tiana ride has yet to be announced.

Walking Access to EPCOT
Finally, the hotels that have walking access to EPCOT — Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, and the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve — could be particularly popular in 2024 since EPCOT will have quite a few new things for fans to check out!
First, Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana will be open by then as it is set to open in late 2023.
Plus, World Celebration is set to be complete by 2023, which means that the new Walt Disney statue, CommuniCore Hall, CommuniCore Plaza, World Celebration gardens, World Celebration Mickey meet-and-greet space, and more should ALL be done by then.
That’ll give EPCOT fans a whole bunch of new reasons to visit the park and what better way to visit than by staying within walking distance to the secret back entrance to EPCOT?!

Staying at the Grand Floridian in 2024. Taking our granddaughter for her first trip to Disney World.
Michelle says
We always stay the Value Resorts, usually All Star Sports (I know it has a bad rep but we still love it) but we are trying Pop Century for the first time for our upcoming trip primarily due to Skyliner access.
Essie says
I’ll be staying at the Pop Century and I’ll be very glad that I can manage to afford that.
