Disney World is going ALL out for Hispanic and Latin Heritage Month.
Not only did we FINALLY get to see Bruno in Magic Kingdom (but we don’t talk about it), but we also got to meet Mirabel recently, too (and she is AWESOME). But we’re also getting loads of delicious food and snacks throughout the parks and resorts, although we think we’ve already found one of our favorites.
If you’ve ever visited Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs, you know you’re in for some absolutely impressive cakes and pastries. Their petit cakes are beautiful, and we’ll never say “no” to the iconic Mickey Dome Cake. So we already had high hopes for this snack spot’s Hispanic and Latin Heritage Month offering, the Sweet Mojito Taco. As you can tell, it’s another really pretty dessert.
We’re just going to tell you now that we were not disappointed. It’s a mojito in a taco — what’s not to love? It’s a Sweet Taco filled with Lime Mousse, Mint Pâte de Fruit, and Meringue on a Graham Cracker Sable. Okay, so it’s more like a key lime pie than a mojito, especially with the soft, spongey meringue on top. But that lime flavor is bright and bold.
The pâte de fruit was tart with a heavy lime flavor. It also had a unique, dense, and chewy texture that was almost like a gummy bear. The lime mousse was decadent, but the flavor was mild enough that it didn’t overpower the pâte de fruit. The sable reminded us of a crumbly shortbread. The taco is a LITTLE difficult to eat as the soft stuff on the inside oozes right out. Have napkins ready.
We even liked the hint of flavor that the bit of mint on top adds — it’s just an extra bit of freshness to cleanse the palate. We will say that $8 might seem a bit steep for a dessert like this, but with Amorette’s, the price is typically worth it.
This snack is only available through October 15th, so if you want to grab it, you’ll need to do so quickly. We’ll be trying out all the other new snacks in Disney World, too, so stay tuned to DFB for more reviews.
