We are ALL about Disney food, but that doesn’t mean that all Disney food is created equally.
There are some Disney restaurants and snacks we absolutely adore, but there are plenty of others that…well, we don’t recommend you spend your money on. And we’re here today to warn you about a popular table service restaurant in the parks — DON’T waste your time and money at Be Our Guest Restaurant!
Be Our Guest is a table service restaurant themed to Beauty and The Beast. It’s located in Beast’s Castle in Fantasyland and is a very popular dining reservation for many guests. However, there are some downfalls to this restaurant that you need to know about.
The Price
This is one of the most expensive table service meals you’ll find in Magic Kingdom. Lunch and dinner will cost adults $67 a person, while kids 3-9 will eat for $39 each.
The meal is also prix-fixe, meaning that there are limited options for what you’ll be eating. This is especially an issue for less adventurous eaters, so keep this in mind before you choose to book a reservation.
The Food
Speaking of the food, in our experience, it’s not worth the price tag.
Listen, the food isn’t bad, but it’s not worth $67 in our opinion. Some dishes are better than others, and we frequently head back to the restaurant to check on the food. We just haven’t been impressed recently.
The Atmosphere
Now, the castle is gorgeous inside and out. However, we also don’t think the atmosphere is worth the hefty price tag.
For one thing, the restaurant is actually pretty dark no matter what time it is outside, and while you can politely request which section you’d like to be seated in, there’s no guarantee you’ll be seated where you’d like. While the decorations are something to appreciate, this is part of the reason why we feel the restaurant is a “one-and-done experience.”
The Characters
And here we come to one of the biggest downsides of the restaurant. Unlike Cinderella’s Royal Table, which boasts a similar price tag and menu, this table service meal is NOT technically a character meal.
The Beast comes out very briefly to wave to guests and then disappears. And that’s it. Since it’s Beast’s Castle, Belle does not make an appearance. This means that a portion of that price tag isn’t even going to meeting characters, and that’s a downside for us.
If this is a restaurant you HAVE to visit on your vacation, we say go for it! Just keep these things in mind when you visit so you’re not caught off guard.

As someone with food allergies, this was a huge zero for me. I was not allowed any of the desserts & given some “plant based” cookie, that tasted like straw. The only reason went was because the friend who invited herself along on our trip wanted to eat there. Give me Crystal Palace any day!

We ate there on our last trip and was placed in the room where the rose was located, the room was dark and even hard to see what you were actually eating. Our trip was in 2019. The food was not bad then however I do agree there were not very many options to choose from. We will be traveling back to Disney World in 2024 – this is on our list; however, it may have to change if the reviews don’t get better.

Ate there once. Never again.

I use to love this restaurant for lunch so this is a big disappointment. NOT an improvement going this route in my opinion. Lunch and dinner were better before this big money grab.

Totally agree ! Our last dinner there was aweful ! Steak was super tough veggies were hard and the service was terrible.

Hi my husband and I really enjoyed going there for dinner when we were in WDW in 2021. We plan to make reservations for this year in December. We knew that our dinner was going to be pricey, but we liked it very much and we thought the food was delicious. It was fun to see the Beast walk through and wave hello. It is a lot cheaper than the new Japanese restaurant at EPCOT! Anyway, we are looking forward to having dinner there in December. Thank you 😉😊🥰

100% agree!!!
If I’m spending that kind of money, I want character interaction for our kiddos.
The limited menu is a major bummer, especially for small kids, & the food itself is just okay… especially for the massive price tag.
We went on our first trip, when we had the dining plan, & now we know. We won’t be back.

It is well known that the weakest link in the WDW chain, has always been the food. Food service is usually ok, but the food itself is over inspired, under delivered, over priced and not memorable by any stretch. Everything that Walt Disney was not about, and the Be Our Guest dining experience is not worth the money but has has almost become a right of passage like visiting it’s a small world. Was good it it’s day, but has lost its way. The executive chef and dining manager need some WED training as the current field of imagineers don’t seem to get it.
