Disney World. It’s the Most Magical Place On Earth.
Except for when it’s not. While Disney World is great fun for all ages most of the time, there are a few scenarios and places at Disney World that we, as grown adults, are SCARED of. Some fears you just never grow out of, you know?
While we’ve never actually felt genuinely unsafe at Disney World, there are a few places that we just do not want to be. There are places we feel downright uncomfortable, and there are places that will give us jump scares no matter how much we mentally prepare ourselves beforehand. Without further ado, here are some of the SCARIEST places at Disney World.
Caves on Tom Sawyer Island
The caves on Tom Sawyer Island in Magic Kingdom are just plain spooky. Like, who enjoys being in a cold, dark cave? Well, I guess bats do. And probably the bear that got loose in Magic Kingdom.
Us? Nah. Take us back to the pixie dust. It’s a little too quiet, dark, and eerie in those caves!
Bathrooms
The Disney World bathrooms are sometimes SCARY. We said it. They’re crowded. They’re messy sometimes, before those custodial Cast Members come through with pixie dust. There are little children running around because their poor mamas are just trying to experience five seconds of peace while they do their business.
There are teenagers way cooler than us judging how we re-apply our lipliner in the mirror. Is there toilet paper stuck to our shoe? Oh my gosh, is it raining outside, WHY is it so crowded? It’s chaotic, it’s hectic, and we do not particularly enjoy the bathroom.
Disney World in general in the months May through September.
I imagine that cookies put in a way-too-hot oven feel the way that Disney World guests feel from May through September. Sometimes it’s OCTOBER before it starts to cool down.
It’s sweaty. It’s stinky. It’s crowded. There are panting children everywhere. There are panting ADULTS everywhere. HEEEEEELP. Can we have summer hibernation? Can that be a thing? It’s dangerously hot from the summer months in central Florida, and everyone is at Disney World at once because the kiddos are out of school, and on top of it all, there will probably be a torrential downpour of rain at approximately… OH WAIT. You can’t predict the rain. It could come at any second now…
It’s Tough To Be A Bug
Located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, It’s Tough To Be A Bug has terrified youngins for decades. Unless you enjoy the sensation of tiny critters all over your skin, or unless you enjoy the smell of stink bug, this show is horrifying and awful.
However, it’s also a right of passage. It’s also a right of passage to laugh as your child experiences the attraction for the first time. #Parenting

The scariest place at Walt Disney World, or Disneyland, is at home looking at the credit card bills afterward 😉

Oh, come on, now. It’s Tough to be a Bug is a great attraction! Hysterically funny and creatively interactive. My entire family loved it, and I would go experience it again.
