DFB and corn dogs — a love story for the ages!
Here at DFB, we’ve talked about corn dogs a LOT…especially the corn dog nuggets at Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom. We’ve also been big fans of the corn dogs at Disneyland Resort over the years. So in general, we consider ourselves corn dog experts. And what kind of experts would we be if we didn’t try out the LOADED corn dogs in Disney World?!
I recently stopped by a restaurant we rarely visit to try out some rather intriguing menu items. The Smokehouse is the quick service stand in front of House of Blues in Disney Springs, and they have two new loaded corn dogs on their menu that have piqued our interest!
The two items are the BBQ Nacho Corn Dog and the Street Corn Dog, each available for $14. They also have a regular corn dog if you don’t want the extra toppings.
These things are absolutely covered in fixings, and they’re HEFTY. You’re going to want to grab some napkins before you dig in!
First up, I tried the Street Corn Dog, which is topped with chipotle aioli, cotija cheese, cilantro crema, and tajin. The hot dogs inside are made with 100% beef.
And boy, I’ve got to tell you…this was the BEST corn dog I’ve ever eaten in my LIFE. The seasonings all blended incredibly well together, and because they’re usually found on street corn, they worked really well on a corn dog. There was brightness and freshness from the crema, creaminess from the aioli, and a nice cheesy flavor from the cotija.
And inside the corn dog, the batter was fried crispy on the outside and soft inside with a flavor that reminded me of sweet cornbread. The hot dog was delicious and pretty basic, but it didn’t outshine the flavors on the outside, which was good. Overall, it was messy to eat, but it was all so spectacular that I didn’t mind in the slightest! ZERO complaints here, folks.
But alas, the corresponding corn dog doesn’t get the same praise. The BBQ Nacho Corn Dog is topped with nacho cheese, tortilla crumble, pickled jalapeno, and bbq sauce.
This kinda landed at a 5/10 for me. You definitely need to eat this when it’s hot because it was not great after it cooled off. The nacho cheese didn’t have any cheese flavor, and I couldn’t taste the jalapenos, so there wasn’t much flavor overall. The whole thing just kinda tasted like barbecue sauce.
The textures were pretty nice, however, with the crunch from the chips. And of course, the corn dog itself was still pretty good. Solid base, but maybe not the best choice of toppings.
Ultimately, I highly recommend the Street Corn Dog and I’ll probably be back to order it again myself. Does The Smokehouse deserve more attention? It wasn’t very busy when I was there, but this delicious treat may have me converted to the fandom!

Great report! I’ve walked past the Smokehouse at least 50 times without stopping to even look at it. I will give it a try next time!
