Disney World has been celebrating spooky season for a while already, but it’s almost officially October!
With Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party happening on select nights, the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival in full swing daily, and new attractions officially opening up, October is shaping up to be quite an exciting month. If you’re heading to Disney World soon, make sure you don’t make these mistakes!
October is almost here and we can’t wait to check out all it will bring to Disney World. If you’re heading to the parks soon, you’re going to want to keep reading so you don’t make these Disney World mistakes in October!
Forgetting That a NEW Attraction Is Opening
We know, we know — we’ve been talking about Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana for quite a long time now, so how could anyone forget that it’s going to be opening in October! October 16th, to be exact, and we couldn’t be more excited. It’s an interactive walkthrough designed to teach you about the water cycle and its importance.
Cast Member, Annual Passholder, and DVC Member previews have been going on for a while, and you can check out our sneak peek we got to experience before opening day right here.
Everyone Will Forget This HACK for the Moana Attraction in EPCOT
Being Unprepared for the New Moana Meet and Greet
Not only will the Moana attraction officially be opening in October, but an official Moana meet and greet will be opening then too! Disney shared that we’ll be able to meet Moana in World Nature near the entrance to the new attraction once she starts making voyages to EPCOT.
If you’re hoping to meet this princess, make sure you keep an eye out once you make your way inside the Journey of Water attraction. It sounds like the meet and greet and the attraction will be one and the same or at least in the same location, so make sure you keep that in mind when you’re making plans!

Not Celebrating Disney’s 100th Anniversary
We’ve been celebrating the 100th Anniversary of The Walt Disney Company for a few months at this point, but did you know the official 100th Anniversary will be on October 16th? That’s the official date that The Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio was formed back in 1923. A ton of new 100th-anniversary elements will be added to EPCOT at the end of September, so make sure you enjoy them during your trip in October!
A new, platinum Mickey Mouse statue will debut in front of Spaceship Earth, which will also “light up each night with special colors and lights accompanied by the Disney100 anthem, a unique rendition of ‘When You Wish Upon a Star.’” We’ll be checking that out when it happens, so stay tuned.
