The holidays at Disney World are the most magical time to visit!
And there are a ton of things to do. There are events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the Festival of the Holidays, the Candlelight Processional, and more! All of those amazing events do bring a lot of crowds to the parks too, so the best thing to do is to plan out your trip as early as you can!
Avoid Any Potential Price Increases
Just like change is inevitable, you can bet that prices are only going to increase in the future. That applies not only to Disney World tickets but also the hotels. The best thing to do is to book your tickets and hotels as soon as you’re able to before any new price increases are put into effect.
If you book as soon as you know your trip dates, you’re getting ahead of any potential 2024 hotel and ticket price increases. Book now to lock in your rates!

Start Tracking Flight Prices
You’ll want to start tracking flight prices as they are also subject to change. If you plan early, you give yourself a lot of time to watch for price changes and know the best times to buy.
Monitor those prices using Google Flights or whatever app you feel comfortable with. The main thing is not to wait because sometimes those prices will quickly skyrocket out of your budget.

Be On the Lookout For 2024 News
As 2024 approaches, Disney will be announcing the dates for their upcoming events, festivals, and more. Once the official dates are released hotels and park reservations fill up FAST. Try to do yourself a favor and reduce some of the stress. Know that if you already have your trip booked, you’ll have much less stress as all you’ll need to do is work on getting those event tickets.
As you know, the holidays are filled with events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the Festival of the Holidays, the Candlelight Processional, and more! Even though Disney announces these events a few months before they begin, you may find that if you wait to book your trip until then, you won’t have enough time to secure those reservations. Basically, the best thing to do is to plan out your trip as early as you can!

I thought that park pass reservations weren’t needed by Christmas of 2024. Could you please explain this one way or the other? Thank you.

Hi Essie. As of January 9, 2024, park reservations will no longer be required for date-based tickets. I believe what the writer meant by park reservations may have been in reference to dining and after hours events, but anyone who has a ticket that isn’t date-based will also have to still make those park reservations, annual passholders being one of the ticket types. I apologize for the confusion.
