If you consider yourself a Disney Adult or Disney Parks fanatic, you’ve probably heard of “drinking around the world” at EPCOT.
Drinking around the world is when EPCOT visitors grab an alcoholic drink in each of the 11 countries represented in World Showcase. While some folks prefer to treat themselves to fun beverages, we’re choosing to grab all the best SNACKS on this adventure. So, if you’re interested in what we feel are the BEST snacks from each of the countries, then come along with us as we eat around the world!
Today, we will be starting on the left side of World Showcase, in Mexico. Eating around the world does not have as much controversy as drinking around the world, as there isn’t tequila to knock us off our feet right off the bat when we’re eating around the world. Let’s go!
Mexico
Mexico is home to some GREAT margaritas and some small bites. While the better drinks can be found at La Cava del Tequila inside the pyramid, the Empanada de Barbacoa is our favorite snack in Mexico that can be found at Choza de Margarita.
Empanada de Barbacoa for $13 — Choza de Margarita
The Empanada de Barbacoa is a plate of Empanadas filled with Barbacoa Beef, topped with Chipotle Sauce, Crema Mexicana and Queso Fresco. Served with a side of Corn Esquites.
It’s tasty, it’s filling, and it’s perfect to share if you’re hoping for a lighter snack, or great to eat alone if you’re wanting something more filling. It’s our favorite quick option if we’re dining in Mexico.
Norway
Next up, let’s head to Norway!
School Bread for $4.49 — Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe
School Bread is a fan-favorite option in Norway. This treat is a sweet roll that’s been filled with custard and then rolled in coconut.
We like this treat because it kicks our sweet tooth without being too heavy!
China
Over in China, we’re headed to a snack stand!
Pork Eggrolls for $5.25 — Joy of Tea Kiosk
The Pork Eggrolls at Joy of Tea are one of our favorite quick snacks to grab as we’re walking around the park. This snack is two pork and cabbage egg rolls.
They’re crispy and light, and they have a great balance of meat and veggies. We also feel that $5.25 is a great price for these bad boys.
Germany
Pretzel Bread Pudding for $4.79 — Sommerfest
The Pretzel Bread Pudding at Sommerfest is made with what we think is leftover pretzels (like traditional bread pudding is made with leftover bread). It’s then topped with Caramel Butterscotch and a White Cream Sauce.
It’s absolutely delicious, and we think it’s a great snack to grab for less than $5. It’s very sweet, decadent, and caramel-y.
Italy
Ciao, bella! Let’s go to Italy!
Coppa del Nonno for $12.75 — Gelateria Toscana
The Coppa del Nonno, which translates to Grandpa’s cup/Grandpa’s gelato, is a sort of sundae made with Vanilla, Chocolate, and Cookies & Cream gelato, which is then topped with Chocolate Sauce, Whipped Cream, and Amaretto Cookies.
It’s definitely big enough to share, but it’s good enough that you WON’T want to.
America
Just like home, right? Let’s get a taste of classic American dishes!
Loaded Burnt Ends Fries for $12.99 — Regal Eagle Smokehouse
The Loaded Burnt Ends Fries are a relatively new dish at Regal Eagle and is a plate of Seasoned French Fries with Burnt Ends, Macaroni & Cheese, and Beer-battered Onion Rings.
These are DELICIOUS. They’re also super filling, so they’re great to share or have as a whole meal if you’re eating alone.
Japan
Japan is home to quite a few of our favorite quick bites.
Kakigori for $6.50 — Kabuki Cafe
If you’re looking for something cold and refreshing, the Kakigori at Kabuki Cafe is a great option. It’s Japanese shaved ice!
We love the rainbow flavor! It’s light and refreshing but also packed with flavor.
Morocco
Next up, we’re headed to Morocco!
Moroccan Pastry (Pistachio Baklava) for $2.75 — Oasis Sweets and Sips
Here, you can choose from an assortment of Saragli, Ghriba-Kourabiedes, Pistachio Baklava, Almond Crescent Cookie, Flogeres, Sesame Koulouria, Melomakarona, Marble Koulouria, Ergolavos, Anise Fekkas, Kataifi, and Almond Briwat.
We tried the Pistachio Baklava on this trip, and it was DELICIOUS. It’s packed with flavor and is also light enough of a sweet treat to leave you satisfied but not feeling icky.
France
Bonjour! Let’s go to France!
Ratatouille Galette for $10.25 — Le Creperie De Paris
The Ratatouille Galette is a tomato, zucchini, and eggplant galette, and it is DELISH. A galette is just a savory crepe.
We’d recommend this for a light lunch if you’re not wanting a sweet treat from France.
UK
Now, it’s time to head to the United Kingdom!
Fish and Chips for $12.99 —Yorkshire County Fish and Chips Shop
This is THE iconic dish served up in the UK pavilion! This is flaky, crispy, white fish served up with steak fries and some tartar sauce.
If you love fried fish, this dish might be a must-get for you.
Canada
Last but not least, we have made it to Canada!
Maple Popcorn for $6.50 — Canada Popcorn Cart
In Canada, we head straight to the popcorn stand for some good ol’ maple popcorn. Sometimes, simplicity is best!
It’s sweet, it’s salty, it’s everything we could want from popcorn. It’s so good, and we get it nearly every time we’re in Canada!
Well folks, there you have it! We ended this day with a happy heart and a VERY full tummy. Consider both our sweet AND salty tooths KICKED. We’ll continue to keep you updated with more Disney news and reviews, so make sure to follow along for more!
