Disneyland Resort offers two different parks to choose from during your trip.
Of course, there is the original Disneyland Park, and within walking distance is Disney’s California Adventure. By choosing different ticket options, you can pick to visit one park per day or park hop to visit both on the same day. You also have to have a park reservation for the park you want to visit first that day. We now have some exciting news about a change coming to the Disneyland Resort park pass reservation system!
Currently, Disneyland has in place a theme park reservation system for all guests with valid tickets. Once you’ve purchased your tickets, you must log on, in advance of your trip, to select the dates and park you want to visit.
You must have a ticket for the park you want to visit and if you have a park hopper, you’ll make a reservation for the park you plan to enter first. Park reservations are subject to availability, with the parks selling out occasionally. Currently, you can make your park reservation up to 120 days in advance of your visit. But that will soon be changing!
If you like to plan your trips well in advance, then you’ll love this news! Disneyland Resort will begin offering the ability to choose your park reservations up to 180 days out from your visit. This change will be coming later in October.
It will help in showing more availability to a larger variety of ticket options and at different price points. You’ll even have a better ability to see tickets down to $104 per day.
This could be a great advantage for those who love planning! For those who don’t enjoy planning so much, you may want to consider letting someone help you take advantage of this change. Our friends over at Small World Vacations would love to help you plan your trip and get you the best prices while you’re visiting Disneyland.

I still would like the reservation system to go away and let it be first come first serve as it was before. Pass members can’t do or are very limited to spontaneous or last minute visits like we once did before.
Many times I would pick up my daughter after school on a Friday afternoon and head out Disneyland on a whim. Or wake up on a Sunday morning and just decide to go because we could. We can’t do that anymore.
