If you enjoy the controversial McRib at McDonald’s, you’re going to want to keep reading. (We also have a few questions. The first one: Why?)
Anyway, McDonald’s fans and sandwich connoisseurs everywhere mourned last fall as the polarizing McRib went on a “Farewell Tour.” (We didn’t get a One Direction farewell tour but we got one for the MCRIB? Hello?) The sandwich used to return to McDonald’s menus each November, but last year, the restaurant chain told us that November 2022 would be the FINAL November for the McRib. Well, McDonald’s was apparently just joshing. The sandwich is back. Kind of. Let’s talk about it!
Per TODAY.com, the McRib is coming back for a limited time this November. The catch? It won’t be available everywhere like it has been in the past.
Yep, the boneless pork sammie will only be available at select McDonald’s locations. Some of you are probably celebrating the fact that you won’t have to make eye contact with it’s advertisements as you go through the drive-thru this November, while some of you are anxiously waiting to know whether or not you can grab the sandwich from your local McDonald’s.
According to @snackolator on Instagram, McDonald’s said, “It turns out not everyone was ready to say goodbye to the McRib after last year’s Farewell Tour. While it won’t be available nationwide, some lucky fans may find their favorite elusive saucy sandwich at their local McDonald’s restaurants this November.”

I never understood “limited time” menu items. If people like and by them, keep it on the menu permanently. They offer the year round in Germany and Luxembourg, so why not the U.S.?

I rarely, rarely, eat at McDonald’s, but I will go almost weekly when the McRib is in season. So just based on that, I’m glad they don’t put it on the menu permanently…but they shouldn’t retire it permanently, either!!
