Disney World is always thinking up ways to keep things new and interesting in the parks.

But sometimes, that means we have to say goodbye to some of our favorite attractions. Whether it’s permanent or temporary, nothing stings worse than getting to the park only to realize that the ride you’ve been dreaming about is closed. And if you’ve got a trip to EPCOT planned, there’s an upcoming closure you need to know about.
Heads up, Figment fans! Journey Into Imagination with Figment will be closing for maintenance soon. Disney shared on its website that the ride will close for refurbishment on October 10th, 2023.

But, don’t worry — it won’t be closed for long! According to Disney, we’ll be able to journey into imagination once again on October 11th! It sounds like whatever maintenance is required won’t take very long, but this is still something to keep in mind if you’ll be at EPCOT on October 10th.

Luckily, the rest of the Imagination Pavilion will remain open, so you can still experience the new Figment and Mickey & Minnie meet and greets that take place here!

It’s unfortunate that Disney Imagineering can’t do a better job of imagining a pavilion about imagination! This one has been screaming for a complete reimagining for a very long time. It’s sad when the DVC lounge seems to get more visitation than the attractions within the pavilion. It was great when Epcot first opened and now is just sad.
Too bad they aren’t changing it back to the way it was.
