HUGE DISNEY WORLD NEWS!
Many guests have been asking for this Park Hopper change, and now it’s finally returning to Disney World!
Disney announced that, beginning January 9th, 2024, all-day park hopping is finally coming back! Anyone who has a park ticket with Park Hopper or an Annual Pass can visit another theme park at any time of day during park hours.
Ever since Park Hopper returned in 2021, it’s been limited to after 2PM each day. That restriction will finally go away on January 9th.
Remember that Park Pass Reservations are going away for most tickets beginning on January 9th as well. Disney noted that “on days when theme park reservations are required for Annual Passholders and certain non-dated tickets, Passholders and guests will be able to take advantage of the updates to Park Hopper access after visiting their first park.”
So, if you have a Park Pass Reservation for Magic Kingdom and you enter that park at 9AM, you can go to a different park any time after you scan into the first one. You must scan into the park that you have a Park Pass for before you can park hop.
Annual Passholder “Good-to-go” days are coming in January! On those days, Passholders will not need a Park Pass Reservation to visit a theme park.

So does this mean all day Park Hopping is going to be reinstated for Disneyland too on 1/9/2024 as well?
Ronjon says
Finally! I hated being trapped in one park until 2:00 p.m. Even though Disneyland and California Adventure Park hopping started at 11:00 a.m., I hope they will do the same sometime soon and lift the time restriction.

Hallelujah!! It’s about time!!!

I’m really happy to see this, it didn’t make sense when it was enacted and remains a mystery why it is still in place. Also not sure why we have to wait until Jan 9 to change this unpopular policy.
The one issue that continues to exist is lifting the reservation system on select days. Why this remains in place is also confusing and frustrates guests. One day you can drive to the park and walk in and on another day you need reservation.
While Disney’s finance and marketing teams have their spreadsheets, their guests are flocking to Universal, SeaWorld, Bush Gardens, Legoland, and Icon park to enjoy a simpler day that doesn’t require your head in an iPhone scrambling to have a good time.
Leslie says
So why do they have to wait until the new year? Why can’t WE have those benefits now? Stoopid! Ugh
Lori Rienhardt says
Good News! So glad to hear about the park hopping change.
Eileen says
This is confusing. Sounds like we’ll still need a reservation. We will just be able to park hope.. so we still need a reservation after Jan 9 or does it mean, just MK ON WEEKEND.
Linda says
Yayyyyy!!!! So excited about this……it was wayyyyy too long coming! 😁 Now there’s one more thing to look forward to during our April 2024 trip 🎉
Kenh says
One small step for Mickey, one goal leap for park guests. Now if they would reinstate pool hopping, we would be on our way to returning to the happiest place on earth.
Jose Cisneros says
Disney needs to eliminate the reservation system entirely, across the board. It’s meaningless and causes a lot of confusion. At the moment of buying a Park entrance ticket, limit the quantity by blocking further sales for that day, simple. No Reservation needed and people will be able to plan their days more smoothly. It’s not like Disney has no idea how many people will attend a Park at any given day.
CRT says
So if, as a passholder, we don’t have a park reservation, does this mean that we will still have to wait until 2:00 p.m. to enter a park? This whole park reservation system is so stupid. We literally book a reservation 5 minutes before we plan on going if we plan to visit before 2:00. The park reservations need to go.
DFB Gigi says
On days that you are required to have a park reservation, no, you’ll just need a park reservation for the park that you’re wanting to enter. There will be some days when a park reservation is still required for passholders, regardless of whether or not you plan to hop. On days where no park reservation is required, you can freely enter the parks of your choice at any time.
