At Destination D23, Disney dropped some pretty impressive and exciting updates coming to Walt Disney World, and we are here to bring them all to you in 500 words or less! CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

Magic Kingdom has some exciting updates coming soon:
During the 2022 D23 Expo , Disney teased that a huge expansion (“Beyond Big Thunder Mountain“) could be coming to Magic Kingdom!
A new Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern was announced! This pirate-themed area, according to Disney, will be a first-of-its-kind experience that will extend the story of Pirates of the Caribbean. We can’t wait to see what Imagineers do to bring the story to life!
We have all been eagerly awaiting the appearance of Hatbox Ghost at Haunted Mansion. We can see his disappearing face in the haunted halls as early as November 2023!
Disney shared a sneak peek at one of the new animatronics for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: the famous alligator musician, Louis!
The classic Frontierland attraction, Country Bear Jamboree, is getting a brand new show! No specific dates have been announced, but Disney has teased the new show’s debut sometime in 2024.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is next up:
The Tree of Life is getting a new show based on the popular Zootopia movies!
DinoLand U.S.A. is on its way to extinction, and we found out what is to come as a replacement.
Imagineers are making way for The Tropical Americas, which could feature attractions and details from Encanto and Indiana Jones.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios has some new adventures coming in 2024:
Hollywood Studios won’t be seeing much change, but we are excited that Star Tours will be getting a much-anticipated update!
At Destination D23, we were given updates on what to expect in some new scenes featured on the ride: Ahsoka! The new scenes featuring Ahsoka are slated to be added to the ride in Spring of 2024.
EPCOT seemed to have gotten the most buzz at Destination D23!
Disney gave us a timeline update on the multi-year MASSIVE EPCOT transformation.
EPCOT’s transformation will officially be completed by December 2023.
Moana’s Journey of Water attraction will officially open October 16th, 2023! You will also have your chance to meet-and-greet with Moana herself!
Asha from Disney’s upcoming animated feature film, Wish, will also join the EPCOT meet-and-greet lineup.
The classic EPCOT ride Test Track will be getting an upgrade!
Not a lot of details were shared with us; however, we do know that the updated version of the ride will take inspiration from history.
Last on the list of EPCOT announcements is the name of the new nighttime show to celebrate The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary!
Luminous- The Symphony of Us will have its first showing on December 5th, 2023.

I’d actually like to see a few more rides not directly tied to Disney cartoons. My favorites are The Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Tower of Terror, and Expedition Everest. I’d love to see more rides like those – creative and new!
