Disney World is full of dining options, and it seems they are adding new food items to their menus all the time!
Seasonal sweets, celestial meals, boozy takes on classic snacks — how do you choose? If you’re looking to dine on some tasty food in the open air, with a beautiful view to boot, Geyser Point Bar & Grill is worth a visit. Overlooking Bay Lake in a stunning setting themed to the Pacific Northwest, this spot has both a Quick Service walk-up counter and a Table Service lounge. They recently added some new items to their menu, so I decided to check them out — read on for the full review!
Atmosphere
To get to Geyser Point Bar & Grill, head to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, a beautiful hotel with all the rustic charm of the Pacific Northwest. The restaurant is situated at the back of the resort, next to the docks overlooking Bay Lake.
You’ll find a selection of seating options to take in the view of the lake on the patio behind the restaurant.
Inside the restaurant, the focal point is a large bar that sits at the center.
I was seated at a table and given an app plate, silverware, and a cloth napkin.
Let’s take a look at the menu!
Menu
The menu has a selection of Light Fare, Rustic Fare, and Kids’ Meal options, as well as a couple of desserts.
The Light Fare section includes some new items: Crispy “Peking” Ribs, Charcuterie Flatbread, and Macaroni & “Cheese” Bites.
The Rustic Fare Section has some staples, like the Bison Cheeseburger, and a few new items like the Vegetable Burger with ‘Cheese’ and the Multigrain Salad with Tofu.
For kids, they have a few items, including the Turkey Bento Box, Cheese Flatbread, and Chicken Strips. The Dessert menu includes the Campfire Mousse, Apple Cider Sorbet with Berries, a Fruit Plate, and a Seasonal Pie.
The Drink Menu has a large selection of Wine, Beer, Cider, Seltzer, and Signature Libations, as well as a couple of Non-Alcoholic Specialty Libations.
Let’s dig in!
Eats
I ordered three of the new items: the Crispy “Peking” Ribs, the Charcuterie Flatbread, and the Macaroni and “Cheese” Bites, as well as the Lava Smoothie.
To start, the Lava Smoothie is Raspberry Puree blended with flavors of Coconut and Pineapple, and it costs $6.29. This had a fresh coconut flavor that was brightened up really well with the tart pineapple.
While the raspberry added a fair amount of sweetness, overall this drink was not overly sugary, and I thought it was really refreshing.
The Charcuterie Flatbread, which I ordered for $17, was topped with Salami, Brisket, Chorizo, Bacon, and Smoked Gouda Beer Cheese.
This had a ton of flavor from the variety of savory meats, but it wasn’t super heavy the way a meat-lovers pizza would be. Still, this had a sizable portion of meat in every bite, from the tender brisket to the crispy, salty bacon and spiced salami.
While this does have a lot of meat, it also has a lot of arugula and shallots — which added a fresh pop to the dish that brightened it up. The balsamic glaze also brought a touch of sweetness to it that I really loved.
The Smoked Gouda Beer Cheese, which was creamy and a little bit nutty, helped balance out all of the vegetables to make this more of a rich, decadent dish.
The Crispy ‘Peking’ Ribs, which cost $17, are Bone-in Ribs tossed in Peking Sauce with Cashews.
These ribs were tossed in an intensely savory, thick, and rich sauce that tasted very peanutty and a little sweet. I really enjoyed the sauce, but you really have to love peanuts to like these — and they were also very spicy.
The flavor of these was really well-developed, however, they were not fall-off-the-bone ribs. True to their name, they are crispy. This didn’t bother me too much, but I would have preferred a more tender texture, so keep that in mind if you have your heart set on some juicy ribs.
I also ordered the Macaroni and “Cheese” Bites for $11. These are plant-based “Cheese” Bites served with Tomato and Peppers.
I was pleasantly surprised by all of the textures in this dish. The exterior was perfectly fried and golden brown and the filling was a truly creamy macaroni and cheese.
I loved the way the tomatoes and peppers brightened up this savory dish, and overall I was impressed with this as a plant-based option. However, the “cheese” flavor wasn’t exactly passable as real cheese.
If you are looking for something plant-based, these are honestly a great option — but don’t think that they would fool you if you’re looking for something with real cheese.
Lastly, I ordered the Seasonal Pie for dessert, which was a Lemon Meringue Pie for $7.
This was a really bright and light dessert to end the meal with — and so colorful!
The lemon filling was very tart and a tad bit creamy — not as gelatinous as other lemon meringue pies I’ve had in the past. The meringue topping was soft and a tad chewy with a slightly crispy exterior that added a fun texture.
The raspberry sauce was sweet, fresh, and delicious paired with the tart lemon pie, but the raspberries could have been a bit sweeter. Overall, I think it was well done, and if you like lemon desserts, it’s a good option.
Overall
Overall, Geyser Point Bar & Grill is a lovely place to stop for a bite to eat. The setting is beautiful, the service is great, and for the most part, the food impressed me.
This is an outdoor dining area, so depending on the weather, this might not be the best stop for you. But, there are shades that can be pulled down if it starts to rain and a fireplace for cooler evenings.
Nosh or Not
Make your way down to Geyser Point Bar & Grill if…
- You want some good food in the Magic Kingdom resort area. The food here is rather impressive, and you can take a scenic boat ride over from Magic Kingdom.
- You are looking for some plant-based options. The new menu added a few new options for plant-based eaters!
- You want to take advantage of the nice weather. This restaurant is a beautiful way to enjoy the outdoors.
Look elsewhere if…
- Florida is having a bad weather day. While there are workarounds like a fireplace, if the weather is particularly bad, this might not be the best place to have a meal.
- You are on a tight schedule. While there is a nice quick-service window, if you’re not staying at Wilderness Lodge, hopping over here will take a decent chunk of time out of your trip.
- You are looking for a more refined experience. The atmosphere here is nice, but it is more similar to a lounge than an elevated Table-Service restaurant.
