The only constant in life is change, and that’s certainly true around Disney World.
Between booking your hotel, dining reservations, flights, and deciding whether or not Genie+ is worth it — there are a lot of things to keep up with before heading to the Most Magical Place on Earth, including the latest projects that might impact your trip. Luckily, we’ve rounded up some of the biggest permits that point to big changes in Disney World.
We’re taking another look at recently filed permits for Disney World to get an idea of what sort of work may be going on around the property — here’s what we found this time around.
Disney World Hotels
Over at the Disney World hotels, we’ve been seeing a ton of construction and refurbishments, which doesn’t seem like it will be stopping anytime soon. New permits point to more construction at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort…
…and it looks like the Beach Club Dunes Cove Pool will also be getting a little bit of a refresh in the near future.
At Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we found two new permits for work coming up soon. There’s a general construction permit for the Contemporary Meeting Facility, along with a permit to provide labor, material, and/or electrical at the main Contemporary hotel building.
But the hotels weren’t the only places that could be seeing changes soon! A few Disney World theme parks also had some new permits this time around.
Magic Kingdom
While a huge expansion has been teased for Magic Kingdom, this update isn’t quite as large. We found a permit Disney recently filed that indicates Mickey’s PhilharMagic might be getting a bit of love sometime soon.
The address on the permit looks like it matches this location, but the description doesn’t really give us a whole lot of info — it’s just listed as “provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction.” We’ll be keeping an eye on any more updates, so stay tuned for more.
Animal Kingdom
Speaking of expansions, DinoLand USA will eventually be rethemed — we’re just not quite sure into what or when. In the meantime, though, we did spot a new permit for work in DinoLand.
It’s not likely this permit has anything to do with the retheme, but it’s interesting that Disney will be working on something in this area. The permit is for “general construction,” so it could really be for anything. Stay tuned for updates!
