Summers in Florida can be hot and humid, which means if you’re visiting Disney World during that time, you may want to schedule a day to visit the resort’s water parks.
‘Frozen’ additions to Blizzard Beach!
However, one of those water parks, Blizzard Beach, has been closed since March 2023 for refurbishment. This comes after a lengthy closure right before it reopened in 2022 with some new Frozen-inspired elements. However, Disney has finally told us when Blizzard Beach will reopen AGAIN and we’ve got all the deets!
Disney World actually has TWO water parks: Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Since Disney World’s reopening in 2020, though, we’ve haven’t seen both water parks open at the same time. At the moment, Typhoon Lagoon is open, though.

Now, Disney has announced that Blizzard Beach will reopen on November 6th. So you’ll soon be able to hit the slopes and have some cool water fun in the water park again soon.

So what’s happening with Typhoon Lagoon? Well, currently, the Disney World website stops showing hours for the park on November 5th. While Disney hasn’t officially confirmed, this makes it seem likely that Typhoon Lagoon will close as Blizzard Beach reopens.

Of the two water parks, Blizzard Beach is the largest and has 17 slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, water playgrounds, and a ski lift that takes guests to the top of Mount Gushmore. Popular attractions include Runoff Rapids, Cross Country Creek, Toboggan Racers, Summit Plummet, and Teamboat Springs.

I visited typhoon lagoon last week. One of the employees told me that TL was closing the day before BB reopened, and will undergo refurbishment. She said the hope is that both parks will be open for the summer season.
