Orlando International Airport is already a very busy airport.
In fact, Terminal C was recently added to the airport to accommodate more international travel. Plus, the airport just got a brand new Brightline train station. But the airport isn’t done yet — ANOTHER expansion is on the way.
According to the Orlando Business Journal, Terminal C at Orlando International Airport is about to get even BIGGER. Recently, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority approved a contract that deals with the next phase of growth for Terminal C.
A $1.09 million contract was approved with an aviation consulting firm to begin figuring out the next stage of development for the new terminal. The project would add an additional 16 to 24 aircraft gates, as well as even more new amenities.
Now, construction for this addition to Terminal C could still be years away, but Orlando International Airport is already taking steps to move forward with it. The airport has continued to grow, with nearly 58 million passengers projected by the end of the year, the highest amount of passengers ever to pass through MCO per the Orlando Business Journal.
If you’d like to see the new Terminal C for yourself but aren’t flying through there, you can apply for the Experience MCO Visitor Pass Program, which lets you visit the airport’s terminals WITHOUT having a boarding pass. That means you can check out some of the new eats in Terminal C, including Art Smith’s Sunshine Diner (as in the same people from Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin‘) and the airport’s Wine Bar George.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for more news about the airport’s expansion, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

I have been wondering when Orlando is going to update the terminal we always use flying in. I believe it’s terminal A. Every time we fly in and out, we can’t believe how small and old the terminal looks. There’s barely any seating for each gate which makes it hard to get around because people are crowding in every available space. They definitely need to look at Detroit Metro and use that as an example!

I love MCO and enjoy flying in and out of the “B” side Terminal. I dislike terminal “C”… it is poorly layed out and a huge walk to get from the gate to your car or pick up. Stopped flying in and out of Jet Blue because they moved to Terminal C.
