The holidays will be here sooner than you think!
The holidays are fast approaching — in Disney World, anyway — and we’ve learned TONS of new details about what is coming to the parks in the next few months. Disney recently shared news about the Jollywood Nights holiday party, a new Frozen show at Cinderella Castle, and more. Now, we’ve learned that some of our favorite holiday decor is returning to select hotels — giant gingerbread displays!
This year, you’ll be able to spot these beautiful displays at six hotels around Disney World, including a new display at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort:
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Disney’s Beach Club Resort
- Disney’s BoardWalk Resort
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Disney shared that these displays take a lot of preparation — planning starts a full seven months ahead. Cast Members start mixing the dough for the life-size gingerbread house in Disney’s Grand Floridian in May before a two-month curing process.

Then, in the summer, the individual shapes are baked and decorated — from shingles to Mickey cookies. They are then stored for “construction” in November!

When will the Gingerbread house at the grand Floridian be up? Will it be up before Thanksgiving weekend?

Is there a link to a story about how to see all the resorts using Disney transport? We have a dinner reservation at Animal Kingdom Lodge so we will likely park there, but need to leave the car there and return there.
