It’s a little bit late in the year for Halloween news, but Disney just surprised us with a BIG announcement!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party just has a few more event dates left, and Disney has started working on its big 2023 holiday celebrations. In fact, you can find holiday merchandise inside the parks already. So what kind of SPOOKY news is arriving this late in the year? Trust us when we say you’ll want to find out!
We attended a media preview of Disney’s big announcement, and y’all — it is HUGE! We had our suspicions that the Haunted Mansion would be featured on the NEW Disney Treasure Cruise Ship, but now it’s official! The Haunted Mansion Parlor will materialize when this ship sets sail for the first time in December 2024.
Disney shared, “Foolish mortals will sip spirited craft cocktails among 999 happy haunts for the first time” at this one-of-a-kind experience.
Visitors will “partake in the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion, focused on the story of a jovial captain who entered the ghostly realm after a disastrous dinner with his beloved fiancé.” A custom music piece inspired by the original attraction score has been arranged and adapted by composer Shruti Kumar for this experience!
Walt Disney Imagineering has also created “an ever-escalating anthology of illusions that immerses guests into the mysterious lore of the Haunted Mansion.” Expect to see iconic characters from Haunted Mansion attractions around the world along with new haunts.
This will be an immersive experience with a story played on 30-minute loops — and we know we’ll get to see Madame Leota and hear the Ghost Host!

The style of the Haunted Mansion Parlor takes inspiration from a first-class drawing room from classic cruise liners of the golden age, plus the original attraction featuring a “nautical twist.” You’ll feel right at home with the iconic purple wallpaper and a very familiar armchair and clock.

Oh, and did we mention just how downright delicious the drinks sound? Check them out below:
Blood orange and sour cherry flavors will harmonize in a shimmering zero-proof cocktail served in a specialty mug aptly titled, Sympathetic Libations.
The Ghoulish Delight will be an ube-flavored treat that everyone will be able to enjoy. The drink, with hints of sweetness and nuttiness, will incorporate decadent ube fudge, oat milk, and tapioca pearls in a purple concoction garnished with a gummy eyeball and ube glitter.
A spooky twist on a classic margarita, presented to guests amidst a swirl of flavored smoke, will be another signature drink at the Haunted Mansion Parlor. Topped with lemon salt foam, this tequila-based cocktail will contain a secret message, only to be revealed by black light.
We also got to check out a sneak peek of some of the merchandise that will be exclusive to the Disney Treasure!
The Haunted Mansion Parlor Music Box will be a keepsake inspired by the eerie music box that will play a melodic soundtrack inside the Haunted Mansion Parlor. As the rumors go, this mysterious box belonged to the captain’s bride-to-be and only opens in the presence of malevolent spirits.
Honoring the memorable grandfather clock seen in the original Disney Parks attraction, the Haunted Parlor Mantle Clock will loom over the fireplace inside the venue, instigating mysterious happenings when it strikes 13. As a part of the new merchandise collection, Disney Cruise Line guests will be able to bring home their very own mantle clock, just like the one from the parlor.
Featuring the same octopus design from the bar’s entrance onboard the Disney Treasure, the Haunted Mansion Parlor Sculpted Mug will depict an aura of intrigue and will be accented with a variety of sea life, including a hidden Mickey Mouse-shaped barnacle.
The Haunted Mansion Parlor Mirror will allow guests to take home a piece of the magic, offering a ghoulish surprise to unsuspecting users when the hitchhiking ghosts mysteriously appear.

Wow! So. Many. Things! First, this is giving serious Club 33 vibes, imho. All the ghostly, ghastly, ghoulish haunting things happening within… I’m also reminded a bit, though, of Trader Sam’s which generally feels about 30% – 50% too small. If it’s as small as it looks, I predict lines out the door. Also, the 30 min. timer makes me wonder if guests are encouraged to enjoy themselves within that time frame and then “hurry back…” to the less haunted areas of the ship. DFB, did you get that impression: that guests needed to stay no longer than 30 mins? I dunno about Ube chocolate, but the drink sparkles look familiar. I think they went into a fab drink I had (maybe called Command Center?) at Space 220 (EPCOT). Also, did I read correctly; “flavored smoke”?!?! I am beyond intrigued.
Frequenting this establishment would levitate to the top of my list – like so many musical instruments – except it’s not in D’land or D’world… it’s on a ship. One note about this article is I wish that had been made clear somewhere in the headline in the email (“BREAKING: Disney announced a new HAUNTED MANSION LOUNGE!”). I felt some disappointment when I learned it was only available aboard one of the cruise ships.
Now, if those fabulous Imagineers will only design these lounges in the parks… ;)!
