Every now and then Disney has to shut down rides and other attractions for routine maintenance.
This is generally a good thing since it ensures that the attraction is being maintained properly and is safe for guests. Disney will also announce when anything will be closed so that you can better prepare for it on your upcoming trip. Disney has recently announced a new closure you should be aware of coming in 2024!
Rides aren’t the only things that get temporarily closed for maintenance. Even certain modes of transportation (that practically are rides themselves) need to be properly maintained. That’s right, we’re talking about the Disney Skyliner.
This ride in the sky transports you between several Disney hotels, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. But starting on January 16th through January 21st, 2024, the Skyliner will be closed for routine maintenance. We’re pretty glad about this as we swing and travel way up in the air!
The areas between Pop Century/Art of Animation to the Caribbean Beach Resort and Caribbean Beach Resort to Hollywood Studios will be closed from January 16th through January 21st, 2024. The section between Caribbean Beach and the Riviera Resort will remain closed until January 27th, 2024.
While the Skyliner is closed, there will be complimentary bus services for each of the Skyliner resorts to and from EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. So if you’re planning a trip between those dates, be sure to be prepared to use other modes of transportation!

Just looking for clarification, the skyliner to Epcot will reopen on the 28th than?

With CBR being so spread out, one park on the Skyliner is not worth the extra bus and walking time in my opinion. I immediately changed resort when I received this yesterday.

This was so heartbreaking honestly, soul crushing. I was on the phone to Disney in tears begging, move the dates by a week. My son is autistic and the Cars Family Suite we booked at Art of Animation in combination with the Skyliner are everything. He doesn’t do well on the buses and we booked there again for the Skyliner. We can’t move our dates or resort. I literally BEGGED them to honor a comparable room somewhere else, asked if they would be increasing bus transportation, asked about alternative transportation options and there was nothing. I am not an entitled mom here, I am trying to manage the needs of my child. I’ve been planning this for months and working 7 days a week to pay for it. My son & daughter watch DFB & AllEars videos daily because they are so excited. I even asked if they would give us some kind of credit if we used the Minnie Van service to try to reduce the issues we ran into on the buses and they still wouldn’t do anything to help me. I welcome options but I have ZERO hope here.
