The entertainment industry is a bit chaotic right now. Earlier this year, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) ended a 148-day strike that has resulted in several big movie and TV project delays.
However, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike is still ongoing, and that’s also caused some projects to get delayed. Well, now, two BIG Disney movies are getting pushed back by at least a year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has delayed the premiere of the live-action Snow White, titled Disney’s Snow White, by a whole year, from March 22nd, 2024 to March 21st, 2025. That would’ve been one of Disney’s biggest movies of 2024, but that’s no longer the case.
Another film has also been delayed. Pixar’s Elio has been pushed back MORE than a year from March 1st, 2024 to June 13th, 2025. Disney first announced Elio in 2022. The film is about a young boy who has problems just getting to school on time and somehow becomes the first human to make contact with aliens. The movie stars Yonas Kibreab as Elio and America Ferrera as Olga Solis, Elio’s mom.
Talks are ongoing between The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) and SAG-AFTRA. Negotiations between the two have been extended. There’s no word on when a deal might be reached, but we’ll keep an eye on the situation and keep you updated. It’s likely more projects will be delayed, though, due to the strikes.

Disney can delay Snow White forever. It sounds awful. The storyline is bizarre and the lead actress is bad-mouthing the movie to the press. Ugh! My poor stock!
