We’re usually super excited about things happening in Disney’s U.S. parks, but we have to admit that Hong Kong Disneyland’s World of Frozen has us wanting to book a trip to Hong Kong this fall.
Of course, we’re MOST excited about the new eats coming to this Frozen-themed land, but we’re also looking forward to checking out its two new attractions, especially the new roller coaster! However, we’ve now seen what the Cast Members will be wearing in World of Frozen, and let’s just say that they look AMAZING.
One thing that Hong Kong Disneyland has done with its World of Frozen Cast Member costumes is to make them customizable so that Cast Members can mix and match pieces. This is similar to the outfits you see on Cast Members in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
However, there is a defining theme behind each piece: they’re all inspired by traditional Norwegian bunads. Note that the vests are even reversible (!!!), while all the other pieces are interchangeable. There are a total of five different shirts, multiple pairs of breeches, accessories like hair clips and scarves, and more. There are also some cute sunflower hair clips that will actually be available for visitors to purchase in a World of Frozen shop.
For Cast Members working in the Arendelle part of World of Frozen, the outfits have more floral themes with embroidery and styles inspired by the Vikings, as well as European baroque and rococo fashion.
By contrast, the Cast Members in Arendelle Forest take inspiration from Oaken’s style (which makes sense since Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs can be found here). The colors here are all earthy tones to match the forest landscape surrounding the area.
However, it’s more humid in Hong Kong than it probably is in the REAL Norway, so all the costumes were made from light moisture-wicking fabrics. Costume designers also created a raincoat, though, as well as a water bottle cover, just for Cast Members. Wow — Disney really does think of everything!
World of Frozen’s Cast Members will also get some cool new name tags! Each name tag has a flag that represents where they’re located in the land. The name tags also have a sunflower, the Arendelle symbol of celebration.
We’ll be excited to see more! World of Frozen opens in Hong Kong Disneyland on November 20th.
