Some sad news has hit the entertainment world.
On Saturday, October 28th, it was reported that beloved Friends star, Matthew Perry has passed away at age 54.
The Associated Press shared that Perry was found dead of an apparent drowning at his home Saturday. The Los Angeles Times cited anonymous sources confirming Perry’s death. Perry starred as the witty, charming Chandler Bing for 10 seasons on the hit series Friends.
At age 15, Perry moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, where he was cast on the 1990 CBS sitcom Sydney. Perry went on to guest star on Beverly Hills, 90210, eventually landing the role of Chandler in Friends in 1994. Perry received one Emmy nomination for his role in Friends in 2002. He later appeared in several films, including Fools Rush In and The Whole Nine Yards.
In 2022, he published a memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir, which described his struggle with drug and alcohol addiction and his ongoing health battles.
Perry also appeared in Disney’s The Kid and 17 Again. He is survived by his mother and father. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and all those mourning his loss.
