Disney World holds a lot of secrets.
We do our best to share a lot of those secrets with you, but sometimes we discover new ones or rediscover ones we haven’t chatted about in a while, and it reminds us to share them with our audience. We ran into an old secret recently and realized we had to share it — did you know there’s an exclusive lounge INSIDE of Test Track?
Now, this isn’t an exclusive feature for specific types of Disney members, like DVC members or Annual Passholders — this lounge isn’t actually for people affiliated with Disney at all. In fact, it’s only for GM (General Motors) employees and retirees, since Chevrolet (owned by General Motors) sponsors Test Track.
To enter the lounge, you’ll go through this nondescript door to the right of the ride entrance — it’s behind the blue wall in the photo below.
Once inside, you’ll go down a hallway, which will take you to an elevator.
The elevator has a sign welcoming you to the lounge. However, before you can enter, you’ll need to use the buzzer near the elevator and show your GM employee or retiree card that the company has sent you — without the badge, you won’t be able to enter!
You’ll head up to the second floor and find yourself in the beautiful lounge, which is open 9AM-5PM Monday through Friday. A check-in attendant will ask you to sign in, and then you can enjoy the amazing view, free soda, and stay as long as you’d like.
You can also design your car in the lounge with no time limit (unlike in line, where you only have 3 minutes).
Once you’re ready to leave the lounge, let an attendant know and they’ll give you a FREE Lightning Lane pass for you and 5 guests to use on Test Track. You’ll show this pass to the Lightning Lane attendant, and then another attendant right before you’re sorted into your lines (this second attendant will take the pass from you).
There’s also a bonus — if the lounge is closed, don’t worry! Head to the exit of the ride and go into the showroom. Find a GM employee, usually, they’re standing at the desk, and show them your GM card. They’ll give you the Lightning Lane card for you and your party to use!
This lounge is usually very empty and is a great way for employees/retirees and their families to enjoy a calm, cool atmosphere before heading back out into their busy park day. As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news and secrets!

Do they allow any employee of a GM dealership? And if so how do you get a badge?
