The EPCOT transformation is finally wrapping up!
The changes that took years to complete are almost done, with Disney finishing up touches on World Celebration after the recent opening of Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana. In just a few weeks, the construction walls will come down in the park. But to add to those updates…we’re getting a new fireworks show!
Luminous: The Symphony of Us will have its first performance at EPCOT on December 5th, 2023. According to Disney, it will feature “dazzling fireworks, fountains, lights and music to connect us all.”
Luminous will feature a series of movements, and throughout those movements you’ll hear two original songs, as well as new arrangements of classic Disney songs. The show begins with voices from around the World Showcase welcoming you to the gathering, followed by the original song, “Heartbeat Symphony.” Disney shared a preview of this new song.
Disney also shared a list of songs that will be included in the show:
- “You’ll Be in My Heart”
- “Proud Corazón”
- “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”
- “Friend Like Me”
- “So Close” (from Enchanted)
- “When She Loved Me”
- “Remember Me”
- “Into the Unknown”
- “I See the Light”
After those songs, the show ends with another original number for the finale — “Beating of Our Hearts.” Disney worked with Pinar Toprak to make the score, which features the vocal talents of artists Sheléa and Katharine McPhee.
We can’t wait to check out this new show, and we’ll be there on the first night to bring you all the details! Stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates!

Well, the preview already had those happy, warm tears in my eyes. I was just in EPCOT and the current show is just a bit flat, but it looks like they have regained the “feeling” of what EPCOT is. I can’t wait until the first week of December to see it and my first Candlelight Processional!
