Things are changing ALL the time in Disney World.
For example, Magic Kingdom just went from Halloween to Christmas in just ONE night. Of course, some changes aren’t quite as sudden — the EPCOT transformation, which has taken YEARS, is finally going to be done at the end of this year. Disney World restaurants are changing all the time, too, and two popular restaurants just recently added some new foods (and they sound GOOD).
The Edison, in Disney Springs, has recently changed its menu a bit. Now, if you’ve never been to this restaurant, it’s got a super cool vibe with an “industrial gothic” theme based on a 1920s power plant. The menu is made up of classic American food, as well as some unique themed cocktails. At night, you can even find live entertainment, including cabaret, music, and more.
The “Shares & Nibbles” part of the menu just got a huge overhaul, and you can now get five new items:
- Prodigious Pretzel — jumbo sharable pretzel topped with coarse sea salt, pimento cheese, whole grain mustard for $15
- Prohibition Chili — Impossible beef made from plants, black beans, pinto beans, onions, white cheddar for $15
- Short Rib Flatbread — Short Rib, White Cheddar Cheese Sauce, Pickled Red Onion, Arugula, Balsamic for $22
- Chicken Flatbread — Grilled Chicken, White Cheddar Cheese Sauce, Red Onions, Red Bell Peppers, Sundried Tomatoes, Salsa Verde for $22
- Mahi Shrimp Spring Roll — three pieces whole shrimp spices with hot chilies, curry, cilantro, served with sweet chili sauce for $17
We don’t know about you, but those sound AMAZING. We’re always suckers for a giant pretzel, but don’t those flatbreads sound good, too?
The desserts part of the menu got updated, too. Now, some of these changes seem to just be a re-brand of existing items, but there are some new treats here, too. The Triple Chocolate Voltage Cake, Bomba, and Dulce De Leche Cheesecake have been removed from the menu.
Instead, the following has been added to the menu. The only things here, though, that are really new are the Bright Lemon Deep-dish Meringue pie, the Gelato, and the Sorbet.
- Bright Lemon Deep-dish Meringue Pie — Graham cracker crust, vanilla meringue, blueberry compote for $18
- Lights-on Dulce De Leche Cheesecake — Whipped cream, crunchy caramel pearls, caramel sauce for $18Â
- In-the-Dark Ultimate Chocolate Layer Cake — Chocolate mousse, crunchy ganache, salted chocolate sauce for $18
- House-made Gelato — vanilla or chocolate for $12
- House-made Sorbet — Strawberry or Lemon for $12
But wait! There’s MORE. Over at Wine Bar George and The Basket at Wine Bar George in Disney Springs, we caught several menu changes. First of all, you can now get Pumpkin Fritters at The Basket at Wine Bar George.
Brunch has also changed at Wine Bar George:
- Pastrami Smoked Salmon — local bagel, mustard mascarpone, pickled onion, and fried capers for $24
- Fluffy Buttermilk Pancakes — choice of caramel apples or s’mores for $17
- Pastrami Hash for $10
Desserts have changed here, too: Rolled Pavlova has been replaced by Apple Strudel with vanilla custard for $8.
The lunch menu saw some changes, too:
- Birria Braised Short Rib — triple corn grits and pepita crumbles for $24
- Pumpkin Fritters — bacon brown butter aioli and sage for $9
- NY Strip French Dip — caramelized onions and peppers, fries, and au jus for $21
And finally, here’s how the dinner menu changed:
- Grilled Ribeye — mushroom sourdough bread pudding and sesame braised turnips for $52
- Pan Seared Chicken Breast — sundried tomato chicken sausage, black-eyed peas, bacon, and lollipop kale sprouts for $38
So, if you happen to find yourself in Disney Springs and want to try something new, hop on over to The Edison or Wine Bar George to try out this new food!
