Okay, so we know we talk a LOT about how Disney celebrates the holiday season — especially in Disney World.
In fact, the holiday season officially started in Disney World, and the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas and Jollywood Nights parties are coming up soon. But there is a holiday that comes before that, and it’s Thanksgiving. This holiday has its own unique traditions, and one of those traditions is watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Now you have a NEW reason to watch the parade this year.
OK, so Disney is no stranger to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. You can often see Disney characters, balloons, and floats in the parade. Disney previously had a float dedicated to the Disney Wish, but this year, that float will change to represent the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, the Disney Treasure. Note: we haven’t seen any concept art for this float yet, but here’s what the Wish float looked like:
According to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade website, this will be the first float in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade float history that is LONGER than the float bed: the bow of the ship will jut out beyond the float bed by eight feet! WOW! You’ll also see Captain Minnie Mouse on the float, along with many of her friends.
That’s not the only presence Disney will have in the parade this year, though. The gigantic Grogu Balloon will also be returning to the parade. We can’t wait to see our little buddy again in the parade this year!
You can watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade LIVE on November 23rd from 8:30AM to noon EST. It will be aired on NBC, as well as streamed to NBC’s Peacock streaming service.
