There are few things in this world that we love more than cheese.
Since we spend a lot of time in Disney World dining at various restaurants, we’ve tried a variety of cheese-inspired dishes, from charcuterie boards to pasta to cheese soup. But if you know about our obsession with plastic cheese, then you know that we’re big fans of cheese made for dipping. And the king of all dipping cheeses? That’s easy — queso!
One of our favorite queso options used to be the Warm Manchego and Oaxaca Cheese Dip at Three Bridges Bar & Grill. It was served a bit more queso fundido style than a white queso, and it was topped with chorizo and served with tortilla chips.
We’ve talked about this cheesy goodness in the past, but we recently discovered that Three Bridges CHANGED its cheese dip! So of course, I had to venture over there to get the lowdown.
According to the menu, the new option is a White Queso Dip with chorizo, peppers, and tortilla chips for $14. It doesn’t say which cheeses are included.
When the cheese arrived, it was served very similarly to the old recipe — in a tiny skillet with chips on the side. It has the same toppings as the manchego and Oaxaca version, but the queso itself looks significantly smoother.
Unfortunately, even though it looked somewhat appetizing, this was…not the greatest. It reminded me a bit of Velveeta cheese dip — very mild cheese without much depth of flavor. It has that “plastic cheese” quality of staying smooth and creamy even when it gets cold, which made me feel like it wasn’t quite as authentic.
Honestly, this would’ve been much improved with some salt or extra spices, but what would’ve REALLY made it better was a stronger flavored cheese. The chips were still delicious (nice and salty and crispy), but for $14, I was expecting more from this appetizer. Especially when I know how amazing and high quality the other food at Three Bridges usually is (I’m a really big fan of this restaurant on the whole!).
So sadly, we’ll be missing the old cheese. Hopefully they’ll bring it back in the future! We’ll make sure to keep you updated if we notice any more menu changes at Three Bridges or other popular spots in Disney World.
