Pin Trading is a well-loved pastime among Disney park-goers.
While it’s been around for a while, the rules surrounding it have changed quite a bit over the past few years. After the COVID-19 closures of 2020, Cast Member lanyards were set aside in favor of pin trading boards across Disney’s parks. Lanyards have slowly started to return, but in late 2023, a new rule was put in place that could affect your experience again!
Disney shared that pin trading, outside of the use of a lanyard, will only be permitted in Disneyland Park near Westward Ho Trading Company from park opening until 3PM.
Visitors will not be able to use benches or any other structure to display pins and must remain with their items at all times. They will also only be permitted one trading bag for pin trading bag, 14″L x 12″ W x 6″ H or smaller, and are not allowed to use decorations such as lights, signage, or displays.
Keep in mind that pin trading lanyards are still permitted around the park. We’ll keep you up to date with all the latest Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB for more!

Wow, I evidently missed all the people pin trading in the parks if they had to make specific RULES preventing advertisements, lights, etc. I swear I maybe saw 1-2 people doing this with cast members sometimes, not among each other.
