Rainy weather won’t shut down any of the four theme parks in Disney World, but it can still have a big impact on your day.
Some rides have to shut down when there are storms in the area, and the water parks might close due to adverse weather conditions. That’s likely what happened today!
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park was only open for two hours today (November 16th), from 10AM to 12PM. Usually, this park is open until 5PM.
The schedule lists the park’s opening hours as 10AM to 5PM for the rest of the month, so as long as the bad weather clears up soon, it should be back to normal operating hours starting tomorrow.
The park likely closed due to the rainy weather that’s been unusually persistent in Orlando the past few days. While you can definitely still enjoy the theme parks in the rain, it’s a bit more of a problem at the water parks.
Although some rides and attractions in the theme parks will close if there’s lightning in the area, most will stay open if it’s just raining. Our advice is to put on your rain poncho and keep going! The bad weather might keep the worst of the crowds away, leaving the parks with lower ride wait times.
