At DFB, we love all things food. When it comes to brunch, it holds a special place in our hearts. Did you know there’s a NEW brunch option coming to Disney Springs? Lots of delicious-sounding brunch eats will be at Summer House on the Lake, and we need to fill you in.
The new Summer House on the Lake restaurant is opening SOON at Disney Springs. We’re looking forward to so many things about this restaurant, it is almost hard to contain it. From the rosé cart to the cookie bar, there are so many things to be excited about when it finally opens.

However, the one thing we really can’t wait for is their BRUNCH.
Summer House on the Lake at Disney Springs
Their menu is inspired by popular west-coast foods and will also feature foods that are exclusive to their Disney Springs location. Every Saturday and Sunday, from 9AM until 3PM, you are able to enjoy an exclusive brunch menu that encapsulates these flavors in some of your favorite eats.

The brunch menu features food items like Mexican Hash Browns, Breakfast Tostadas, sunny-side-up eggs with Parmesan cream, and Breakfast Pizza with Applewood bacon. These offerings sound delicious and we are impatiently waiting to be able to try them!

Along with those delicious choices, you can also order some everyday breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, like waffles, pancakes, sandwiches, salads, artisan pizzas, and various entrees. So, no matter what you’re feeling for brunch, there will be something on the menu for anyone to enjoy.

We are truly counting down the days until we can enjoy this menu. Summer House on the Lake is located on the West Side of Disney Springs and is slated to open sometime in 2023.
Summer House on the Lake in Orlando international airport!
If you can’t wait for the Disney Springs location to open, have no fear! There is a location open RIGHT NOW at Orlando International Airport in Terminal C, and don’t worry, MCO just started a terminal tourism program — so you don’t even need an airline ticket to visit!

Wheat, wheat and more wheat. Cheap filler food. Yeah, maybe szhuzhed up a bit, but still mostly all wheat. Disappointing. All these restaurants that have little or nothing for people who need to eat properly to function. And no, “gluten free” substitutions don’t count – those are nothing but highly processed, mega carbs (tapioca starch, rice starch, etc). How about more vegetables? And meat? Sigh. There’s no profit in serving healthy food, I guess.
When will there be character meals at Disney Springs? Empress Lily had a spectacular character breakfast back in the 1980’s. Now I know of nothing at Disney Springs with characters. Nothing fun there for families that focuses on Disney. In fact – why call it Disney Springs??? Its a shopping mall that’s no different from any other huge malls throughout the country. Or did I miss something when I was there in March 2023?
I’m excited for Summer House on the Lake but not for the restaurant in the airport. We tried Art Smith’s Sunshine Cafe in the airport and found it to be nothing like or as good as Homecomin’. We chatted with our server who pretty much admitted it is just using the name.
