We recently had the chance to visit the World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland!
While we were there we got to ride the rides, see the shows, and try the food! We tried A LOT of food. But after everything we ate, we narrowed it down to our two favorites in Arendelle!
The goal of Disney was to make the food in the World of Frozen authentic to Norwegian culture while also making it appealing to international and local visitors. This sounds like a difficult task, but we think they nailed it.
There is one quick-service restaurant in Arendelle, Golden Crocus Inn, which has a beloved story behind its operation. The villagers come together to make it one of the best quick-service locations we’ve seen in a long time.
Our first favorite food item can be found here at this quick-service spot. The Forest Mushroom Pasta is the vegetarian option at the Golden Crocus Inn but it should NOT be counted as the lesser option. It was SO GOOD.
Truffle was certainly the main flavor of this dish, but the egg was runny and cut through the richness of the mushrooms adding a nice element to the pasta. For even more creativity in this dish, you could find several different kinds of mushrooms. If you’re a mushroom lover, you have to try this pasta.
Another spot to grab a snack of the sweeter variety is Northern Delights. This is a dessert location with a large variety. You can find caramel apples or chocolates to your heart’s desire.
Our second favorite food item in all the land was the Summer Snow Days soft-serve, and no it’s not ONLY because it looks like Olaf (but that didn’t hurt our decision).
The Summer Snow Day treat was DELICIOUS. We loved the rich vanilla, condensed milk flavor of the ice cream. And the added marshmallow and chocolate from the decorations were great touches. The cone was probably our favorite part, though! Our only complaint about this is that Olaf melts quite quickly in the sun (which one might expect). But overall this was an easy second pick.
It was so much fun getting to take part in the Summer Snow Day Celebration and to see the World of Frozen come to life. We can’t wait for everyone to be able to enjoy this new Disney land.
