November 18th is a very important day in Disney history.
Why? Because it’s Mickey Mouse’s birthday! Yep, Mickey was “born” into the world when “Steamboat Willie” first debuted on November 18th, 1928. We’ve already told you about how Disneyland and Disney World are celebrating, as well as how a once-a-year event marks the occasion in Magic Kingdom. Well, we’ve got some videos celebrating Mickey’s big day that are SURE to make you smile (and maybe cry a little, too).
To celebrate Mickey’s 95th birthday, Disney has released a video called “True Original.” The video will play before Disney’s newest animated movie, Wish, during early screenings. The video highlights Mickey’s long (and impressive!) career, with quotes from Walt Disney and others. This one sure gave us the warm fuzzies. It all started with a mouse, after all.
@disney Walt Disney said it best – it was all started by a mouse. Happy Birthday to everybody’s pal, Mickey Mouse! #HappyBirthdayMickey #Disney100
But wait, there’s more. Because we did something today for Mickey, too. We got Mickey a birthday card and had all his friends sign it. Of course, we asked Donald to sign the card…
…and miss Daisy Duck!
Then, we stopped by and asked Winnie the Pooh to sign Mickey’s birthday card.
Goofy was happy to celebrate with us, too!
And, of course, Pluto lent a paw to the cause, too! Then, we had a few more friends sign the card, and it was time to give Mickey our little present.
We think Mickey loved it because he had to wipe away some tears when we presented it to him (same, Mickey). Here’s the video of when we gave Mickey the card.

That’s so cute! I went to the Nov 18 2022 Christmas party to see Mickey on our shared birthday
But when I wished him a Happy Birthday there wasn’t much reaction. Im glad the cast members now have a little more knowledge of Mickey history

I’m crying, too! Mickey and my mom were born the same year, 1928. Mom always got the biggest kick out of being the same age as Mickey! She’s gone now, but this was a sweet way to remember her, too. Happy Birthday, Mickey! (And Happy Birthday, Mom!)
