When it comes to nighttime entertainment, Disney goes ALL OUT.
The fireworks shows alone in Disney parks are enough to blow your mind. Then there are shows like Fantasmic!, which are equally as amazing. However, many Disney fans still say the CLASSIC Main Street Electrical Parade is one of their favorite nighttime shows. Well, imagine that parade…but in the sky! That’s what Disneyland Paris will be doing soon. Now we have more details about that new show!
The Disney Symphony of Colours celebration will actually bring TWO new shows to Disneyland Paris. The shows will include characters like Mickey, Minnie, Timon, Joy, and Mirabel. There’s a nighttime show AND a daytime show.
Now, we have more details about BOTH shows. The Disney Electrical Sky Parade will be a nighttime drone parade in the sky using synchronized drones, video projections, lights, and fountains across Sleeping Beauty Castle. The sky “will be transformed into a palette of colors” above the castle. Like we said, it’s like the Main Street Electrical Parade — but in the sky. We are SO in. The nighttime show starts on January 8th, 2024.
The nighttime show will feature up to 500 drones (whew, that’s a lot) acting as illuminated floats, and they’ll take shapes of floats from the Main Street Electrical Parade, including Elliott the dragon and Cinderella’s carriage. PLUS, the music of the Main Street Electrical parade has been remixed for the show. Y’all. This sounds amazing.
Disney released a video about how the nighttime show came together.
The daytime show/parade will be a “colorful, musical experience,” celebrating the animated films of Disney and Pixar with characters like Mickey, Mirabel, Stitch, and more. A Million Splashes of Color will have several performances throughout the day to “take guests on a journey through time to discover the stories of Disney Animation and Pixar — from timeless classics to the most recent hits.”
The colorful floats in the show will be inspired by art, music, and writing. Each float has its own identity and will be PACKED with Disney references. There are also two new original musical scores that include mashups of songs like “The Bare Necessities,” “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” “You’ve Got A Friend in Me,” and more. It will also feature loads of colorful dancers. The show starts on February 10th, 2024.
But there’s more! Main Street, U.S.A., in Disneyland Paris Park will feature new colorful decorations starting February 10th, 2024. Look out for “a twinkling of light and some flowery touches” to “wake up winter.” It seems Tinker Bell and her sister, Periwinkle, have been busy lightening up the place.
The new decorations are inspired by Art Nouveau and will feature over 50 Disney and Pixar characters, including Tiana, Elsa, Woody, and more.
All we can say is WOW. This sounds so beautiful, and we’d love to see it for ourselves. Note that these upcoming shows won’t stick around for long! The nighttime show starting in January will last through the end of September 2024, and the Pixar show starting in February will last through April 2024.
