We hope you’re sitting down because Disney World has seen another MAJOR increase seemingly overnight!
Genie+
Recently we’ve seen price increases in everything from restaurants to recreational experiences and now we’ve got one more featured ticket add-on to add to the list. If you’re thinking about purchasing Genie+ for your upcoming Disney World vacation as we draw nearer to the holiday season, you’ll want to pay close attention!
As we head into what we figured would be a busy week with the holidays, it may come as no surprise that Genie+ pricing has also adjusted to account for the crowds. We checked the My Disney Experience app the morning of November 20th to find that Genie+ had seen a significant increase in pricing making it known that Disney is anticipating the holiday crowds, too.
It’s going to be a busy day!
Genie+ for the multiple park and Magic Kingdom only option has hit $35 per person for use as a single day — the highest price we’ve seen it at so far. We also saw that the other parks, like Disney’s Hollywood Studios, have hit $32, EPCOT is at $28, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom sits at $25 for just those single parks for the day.

We also noticed increases in Individual Lightning Lane purchases (the solo attractions available in each park) with popular rides like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind priced at $17. Not only that, but by the time we checked this morning, Rise of the Resistance, TRON, and Flight of Passage were all completely sold out today.
It’s also worth noting that Magic Kingdom was completely sold out of park pass reservations for November 20th as well.

So far, this is the highest price we’ve seen for Genie+ pricing in Disney World, and with this just being the start of the holiday week as the crowds pour in, we’ll be interested to see if this remains our highest price all week or if this is just the start of increased pricing that continues to grow as we inch closer to Thanksgiving and through the weekend.

At what point does Genie + and it’s variable pricing model just become plain old greed? Shame on Bob Iger for using this to cover the shortfalls in Disney’s half@$% movies.
Mr. Iger said when he returned that the price increases in the parks were excessive. The price today for Genie Plus is $35. WOW, $35 after paying over $100 to enter the park, use the restrooms and wait on long lines. Disney, how much is enough? In all our visits to Disney World since 1984, we have NEVER EXPERIENCED PARKS FULL. What is different in Disney World today that justifies these wild price increases in addition to Genie Plus and Individual Attraction? Disney, give us a financial break.
I’m really starting to have second thoughts about my scheduled Disney Trip, in December. Disney is getting way too expensive with all these Genie, Genie Plus and Lightening Lanes! I think they’re trying to price me out of this vacation. What happened to wait your turn? I think they’re too motivated by money. It’s always been commercial, but this is going way too far!
That is so beyond believe that Disney is raising genie prices again and we never believed that people should pay to get into attractions faster tha is nothing but GREED mad we won’t ever go Again especially when we live out of state and have to fly there and we ALWAYS stay at the resorts and ALWAYS have SPENT a lot there and grew up on disney so sad what they have done we have other family members that r not going anymore because of the prices that they keep raising first of all have to pay just to walk thru the gates so that is a gate fee and then have pay to get n attractions faster that is nothing but GREED when people live n the state that can go and not have to pay what out of state people have to to spend to to get there and stay at the resorts
Soon then later the price hikes will detour people from going to the Disney Parks. Why haven’t I seen a charge for the scented air that wafts into the sidewalks as you go by. It is getting monotonous to hear of the price hikes on everything. All Disney executives thing about is how they can make more money. So very sad. So very greedy.

A warning to all that come to this happy place!!! It’s gonna be you and thousands of your closest friends.
Just pace yourself and know you won’t get everything done.

What used to be a price for an all day ticket (not that long ago) is now the price for 1 ride
Hopefully it will come down when the season is over unless Disney sees people WILL pay this so y bring it down! I personally don’t ever buy these. Maybe one day but to date I haven’t seen the need. More like a fly by the seat of my pants kind of person. I’m good!
Disney is out of control on pricing. Again I say they’re catering to uber-rich and they’re pushing the average person out of the mix. I’ve been going to WDW since the early 80’s and I’m now very disappointed in them.
This is why I refused to buy Genie+. The more you feed the greedy, the more they want.

Disney is ridiculous. I’ll stand in line rather pay for Genie+ on top of all the other skyhigh prices Disney charges.
Genie+ is a huge ripoff. You usually get 2 rides for the cost. For a family of 4, that’s $140.00. Add that to the diminished park maintenance and no new attractions and Universal is over taking Disney as THE attraction. Need to dump my DVC while they still have value
Diminished park maintenance! Exactly! I started going to Disney when I couldn’t believe how clean it was kept. Now I go and say what happened. When will they clean that up😱 I’ve already dumped my DVC two years ago.

Universal has already overtaken Disney. Disney is popular in Fl but not the favorite . We have passes waiting to be activated otherwise would not be going . This ends passes since 1998. No fun due to phone in face/lots of stress, , no magic, price gouging , spontaneous trips now impossible. Everything thing being done is not needed . Do they really think we buy the explanations???!
As long as people continue to pay for it, Disney will continue to raise the price of it. It’s all about money and absolutely not the costumer. All it does is make it more expensive to go to Disney, and make standby line wait times that much longer. So again, who does it benefit? Disney! Go to MVMCP and see how fast the lines go at sell out parties. There is no lighting lanes, so the lines go fairly fast. Much faster then when the lighting lanes are in being sold. 100% greed by Disney.
