Disney has been focusing pretty seriously on its streaming services and broadcasting television networks, and the company’s scrutiny has apparently resulted in a few shows being canceled if they’re not performing as Disney hoped they would.
We’ve seen it happen on Disney+ and ABC, and now another Disney+ show is being canceled, this time after just one season on the platform.
We’ve got some bad news for Muppets fans out there. Variety has reported that The Muppets Mayhem has been canceled after its only season on Disney+.
The series debuted on Disney+ in May 2023, with Lily Singh, Tahj Mowry, Saara Chaudry, and Anders Holm starring.
This comedy show followed the Electric Mayhem Band, consisting of its original members: Dr. Teeth, Animal, Sgt. Floyd Pepper, Janice, Zoot, and Lips. The episodes focused on the recording of the band’s first-ever studio-recorded album.
We’ll be sad to see the show go, but there are some other new shows and movies coming to Disney+ in December, like Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
