Listen up, millennial Disney fans — this one is for you!
The golden age of Disney and Pixar animation just happened to coincide with the formative years of this generation, and the Toy Story movies certainly seem to stand out. From the big screen to our hearts and even an entire Disney World land, Toy Story has made a major impact on many — and now, we have an update on the potential fifth movie!
Back in February, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that sequels were in the works for quite a few Disney movies — including Toy Story! When the news first broke, Disney star Tim Allen, who voices Buzz Lightyear in the franchise, shared his excitement.
See ya soon Woody, you are a sad strange little man and you have my pity. And off we go to a number 5! To infinity and beyond! pic.twitter.com/bwRzE487Vi

But, we haven’t really heard anything about Toy Story 5 since then — until now! Allen appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on November 21st and shared that Disney reached out to him and Tom Hanks, asking them to come back for another film, People reported.
“Bob Iger, head of Disney, said it was on,” Allen said. “He actually said it was going to happen. They have reached out to Tom and I to reprise the roles, [but] they’re not saying anything about it.”
He went on to say, “What it is for people like me, it’s just like… you wonder if four was too many, is five going to be too much?”
“The writer that’s doing it wrote one of the better ones and he said, ‘If I didn’t get this right, I wouldn’t do it,’ so it could be a very, very interesting way to reunite it,” Allen continued. Sounds like we’ll have to wait for more confirmation from Disney on whether or not this film is still in the works, but we’ll let you know if we learn more!
