We’ve got some DELICIOUS news to share with you — are you ready?!
The 2023 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has officially begun and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, shows and storytellers to watch, souvenirs to grab (of course), and even a cookie stroll to complete. But don’t let it overwhelm you — we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the Le Marche de Noel booth — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
Over at the Le Marche de Noel booth, you’ll find a variety of available items including new dishes, returning favorites, and new and returning drinks as well.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the Crème de Saumon Fumé en Brioche à l’Aneth, Concombre — Cream of smoked salmon in house-made dill brioche bread with cucumber for $8.50. This is a new dish and we’re excited to try it! But, can we talk about how um, green this is? We certainly weren’t expecting this but it’s festive and we are HERE for it. How does it taste, though?!
Despite the fact that this looks like a Pretty Patty from Spongebob, we think this may be a new contender for Best of the Fest! This was SO GOOD. It was a cold, salmon salad with fresh vegetables on the dill brioche — which was PACKED with flavor and was so soft. If you like salmon and dill, you should absolutely go for this. Salmon can be on the fishy side, but the addition of the cucumbers and the fresh lettuce helped to balance things out. Definitely something we would get again!
The Bûche de Noël au Pain D’Épices, Ganache Chocolat au Lait et Noisettes: a Gingerbread Christmas log with milk chocolate and hazelnut ganache. This is another new one this year! You can grab it for $6.75. We liked this! It had a really interesting flavor thanks to the gingerbread, but we’d describe the texture as being more like a sweet bread rather than a cake, so if that’s what you’re looking for then this might be just the thing.
Finally, we had the Rôti de Jambon Sauce Moutarde à l’Ancienne, Patate Douce Rôties. This is Roasted ham with mushrooms, pearl onions, bacon, mustard sauce, and roasted sweet potatoes. When we had this last year, we thought this was a savory and salty explosion — but in the best way. The salty ham pairs so well with the mushrooms and mustard sauce which has an excellent tang. Get this for $7.75.
This year, we felt the same! Our reporter who tried this one was a little skeptical at first (clearly the France booth is lacking in the presentation department) but was thoroughly surprised. When you get a bite of everything altogether — the potatoes, the chunky mushrooms, onions, ham, and that mustard sauce — this dish really comes alive. The mushrooms are so thick and hearty and pair really well with the ham and mustard sauce. It’s a really warm, savory dish that we think may be a sleeper hit.
Now, onto the drinks!
Drinks
In terms of drinks at this booth, we got the Frozen Hot Chocolate Martini made with Grey Goose La Vanille Vodka, vodka, chocolate milk, and whipped cream for $13.95. This drink has made our list of best of the fest in the past, and we loved it just as much this year. There wasn’t much of a strong alcohol flavor, so be cautious when drinking this one! It’s a Florida-friendly version of hot cocoa.
We loved it just the same this year — imagine the flavor of hot cocoa, but frozen! The alcohol isn’t too strong, which can be dangerous. Give this a try if you’re a fan of chocolate martinis!
New this year is the Le Joyeux de Noël made with Vodka, Grey Goose Vodka, cold brew coffee, sea salt caramel toffee, and peppermint for $11.75. This is incredible — it reminded us of a peppermint mocha latte from Starbucks but cold and with alcohol in it, which just ticks all the boxes, you know?
It’s got a bite from the vodka, but it’s still on the sweet side so it’s not super overwhelming and is just a really well-rounded dessert cocktail. The peppermint is subtle, but it’s there and definitely adds to the overall flavor of the drink.
And finally, we also tried the new Blood Orange Mimosa. It’s made with Pol Remy Sparkling Wine, orange juice, and blood orange for $9.95. If you’re looking for something refreshing that’s a bit different than a regular mimosa, this might be it! It’s pretty basic and isn’t drastically different from your run-of-the-mill OJ version, but we thoroughly enjoyed how refreshing it was. It was sweet, but not overwhelmingly so.
Should you stop by the France booth this year?
OVERALL
Make a stop at Le Marche de Noel if you’re looking for some seriously iconic, savory eats. The Crème de Saumon Fumé en Brioche à l’Aneth, Concombre was absolutely divine and something we’ll be thinking about for a while. We also enjoyed the Blood Orange Mimosa and the new Joyeaux cocktail, and it’s hard to beat that Frozen Hot Chocolate!
