OK, be honest. Are seven desserts too many for one sitting?
We certainly hope you don’t think that’s too much because we’re about to eat seven tasty treats at the Holiday Hearth Desserts food booth at the 2023 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays! Here’s the real question, though: which of these treats are ACTUALLY worth the money, and which should you SKIP? We’re finding out for you!
Menu
Over at the Holiday Hearth Desserts food booth, you’ll find a variety of available items. There are seven desserts and six different drinks! A few of these items are brand-new this year.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the NEW Mint Chocolate Mousse Wreath for $5. This was super, super minty — which isn’t surprising, but it was a lot stronger than we were expecting. The mousse has chocolate chips in it, which to us gave off mint chocolate chip ice cream vibes — and we certainly weren’t upset about that.
It tastes a lot like an Andes mint, but if you’re not a huge mint person we’d recommend skipping this one.
Next, we tried another new treat! This is the Apple Caramel Crumb Cake for $4.75. Ohhhhhhh goodness, this thing is SO GOOD. We cannot stress enough that this is one of the best festival treats we’ve ever had and it will certainly be making our Best of the Fest list! It’s like the soft, gooey center of the best apple crumble you’ve ever had in your life. Perfectly balanced with sweet and butter from the crumble, and the drizzle of caramel and icing on top was an iconic addition.
The last new item here is the Chocolate-covered Toffee Brittle for $4.25. We were disappointed with this one — and our reporter who tried it is a big toffee gal. We couldn’t even break it apart — it’s incredibly thick and aggressive. When we bit through it, we were able to, but it was a big slab of toffee that got stuck in our teeth. It was pretty hard to chew, and the toffee flavor wasn’t strong enough for us.
Next, we tried a few returning desserts. The Salted Caramel Spaceship Earth Cookie for $5.50 was delicious and buttery and even made our “Best of the Fest” list a couple of years ago. Is it still as good in 2023?
Yes. This thing is SO GOOD. It’s the perfect mixture of a not-too-sweet sugar cookie and gooey salted caramel in the middle. The best part of this cookie for us is the giant pieces of sugar on top. It’s sweet and Christmassy without being overwhelmingly so.
The Mouse Crunch made with M&M’S chocolate candies for $6.50 is a mix of popcorn, chocolate pretzels, and M&M’s, and we loved it in 2022. We love this because it’s a great take-home option that can double as a souvenir to enjoy at home. It’s your typical sweet and salty snack mix, but it was more on the sweet side for sure.
The Red Velvet Mini Bundt Cake with Cream Cheese Icing for $4.75 is a returning favorite. It’s been moist, light, and delicious in years past. First of all, we need to talk about the fact that this is one of the most adorably festive desserts we’ve ever seen. It’s pretty basic overall, but it’s a fun and tasty dessert we’d get again. If you like red velvet, you’ll probably enjoy this, though it isn’t the BEST red velvet cake we’ve ever had.
We’re ending with the Peppermint Pinwheel Cookie, which is part of the Cookie Stroll! You can grab it for $3. This is typically one of our favorite desserts available in the Cookie Stroll, and while we enjoyed it this year — it fell flat compared to the other delicious eats at this booth.

It’s a tasty sugar cookie with a hint of peppermint that isn’t too overwhelming!
Drinks
In terms of drinks at this booth, we got the non-alcoholic Frozen Caramel Hot Chocolate with TWIX cookie bar pieces and whipped cream. YUM. You can get this new drink for $5.25. This is SUPER sweet — like overly sweet. It’s a LOT of caramel flavor so it basically tastes like straight sugar. It would probably be good for kiddos and folks with a serious sweet tooth, but we felt like we needed to brush our teeth after drinking this!

We also grabbed the Peppermint Cocoa, which is hot cocoa by Joffrey’s Coffee with peppermint schnapps. It’s $12.50, and in the past, we’ve loved the balance of chocolate and peppermint in this drink. (Note that you can also get regular hot cocoa by Joffrey’s Coffee here for $4.)
This is DELICIOUS and look at that cute little cup it’s served in! We loved the addition of the candy cane pieces on top — it added some color visually but also added a nice texture. It’s not the most exciting thing we’ve tried today, but it’s Christmas in a cup and definitely adds to the overall vibes of the festival.
Finally, we tried the Beer Flight for $10.25, which includes two NEW beers. The Wicked Weed Brewing Milk & Cookies Imperial Milk Stout is returning, and the two new options are the Wicked Weed Brewing Jack Frost IPA and the BrewDog It’s a Beaut Stout.
Last year, we thought that Milk & Cookies Imperial Milk Stout was just a bit too heavy and sweet. Has it redeemed itself in 2023? We didn’t really think so — it just tasted like a basic stout to us. We didn’t really get any sort of “milk & cookies” vibe when we tried it again this year.
The Wicked Weed Brewing Jack Frost IPA didn’t have a ton of flavor and had a bitterness that we didn’t enjoy — and our reporter who tried this is typically a big fan of IPAs.
We also tried the BrewDog It’s a Beaut Stout, and thought this was the best of the bunch. We could definitely taste the pecan and toffee notes this brew features, but it was a pretty heavy stout which doesn’t always make for the best “walking around EPCOT” beer in our opinion.
So, what’s the verdict?
OVERALL
If holiday sweets are what you’re after, this is definitely the booth you want to visit! There’s likely something for just about everyone here — from cookies to cakes and more. Our favorites were the Apple Caramel Crumb Cake and the Spaceship Earth cookie, but we really don’t think you can go wrong here!
