Out of recently-added Marvel series, ‘Loki’ has been a fan-favorite.
The series, whose first season debuted on Disney+ in 2021, follows the god of mischief throughout the aftermath of the events that took place in Avengers: Endgame. The series has 4.8 stars on Google reviews and 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, proving the show a success! So.. Who is the mind behind this beloved series? Michael Waldron! And now, he’s about to take on a new project within Marvel’s Cinematic Universe.
According to Deadline, Waldron is currently set to write the upcoming Marvel film: Avengers: Kang Dynasty, which is set to premiere in 2026.
Previously, he was only set to write the film which would come after, Avengers: Secret Wars, but now Waldron will write both.
Destin Daniele Cretton, who was formerly in charge of the script, told Deadline that he would not be directing the upcoming film in order to have time to work on other projects.
Kang Dynasty is currently set to debut on May 1st, 2026, with Secret Wars set to debut on May 7th, 2027, which will wrap up Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 6 features.

Todd says
Perhaps recent Marvel box office results might encourage the brakes to be put on Marvel movies for awhile. Give it a rest for several years to the point that the public is begging for more instead of the current state of “oh, another Marvel movie”. Marvel has become far too complicated and the average viewer is struggling to connect the dots rather than just being entertained. Disney needs to better understand audiences and why hit films from other studies were hit films…nobody needed to do research to watch and understand Barbie.
