We are nearing the end of the EPCOT transformation!
Disney announced the EPCOT transformation will be complete in December of this year. The new show, Luminous The Symphony of Us, is set to debut on December 5th and now Disney has just announced that walls are COMING DOWN!
The Walt the Dreamer statue and World Celebration Gardens are officially set to open to guests in EPCOT on December 5th, 2023–in celebration of Walt’s birthday.

Four gardens will be found in the center of World Celebration, including Dreamer’s Point (where the statue will set), and will connect together at a central planter that is based on the EPCOT logo. The area will evolve with the seasons and include lighting elements that will “take on a whole new life” at night.
We’ll be able to visit the relaxing location starting on December 5th when Disney brings down the walls. We recently got an aerial view of the gardens and statue while riding on the monorail!
According to Disney, “Dreamers Point is named not only for the dreamer that has and continues to inspire us but also for all of us who visit EPCOT every day to celebrate the endless potential and possibility of our world.” We can’t wait to visit this special place on the very special day commemorating Walt’s birthday.

I am excited about seeing the new statue of Walt. I hope the finish does not get marred like it does on the bust of Abe Lincoln’s nose in Springfield, IL at his tomb site. People rub the nose for”good luck”.
I can just imagine lots of people will be doing photos with Walt and little kids will be crawling all over him. I wonder if one will wiggle in between the area of Walt’s chest and folded hands– and possibly get stuck or find it very difficult to get back out. Hmmm?
