Any time there’s a new beignet in town, we absolutely consider it breaking news. 

Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter

If you consider yourself a Disney adult OR a sweet treat connoisseur, then you’re probably familiar with Mickey Beignets. While many fans argue that the ones at Disneyland take the cake, you can find some pretty delicious beignets over at Scat Cat’s Club Cafe in Disney World. This eatery at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort serves up all sorts of beignets, and yes, that includes seasonal ones! In the past, we’ve had Peppermint Beignets, Shamrock Beignets, and even BOOZY Beignets. Well, with the holiday season officially underway, there’s a new beignet at Scat Cat’s Club, and we’re taking you with us to try it. Let’s go!

This dish comes with THREE Mickey-shaped Beignets with a dusting of hot cocoa powder, fudge drizzle, snowflake sprinkles, and a pipette of chocolate milk.

Our stomachs were rumbling as soon as we read the description, and when we were presented with this trio of BEAUTY, it didn’t make it much better. They look great, but how will they taste?

Hot Cocoa Beignets

Right away, we thought they were delicious. The base of these beignets is the same as you’d find with a classic Mickey beignet, however, they have a unique, chocolatey twist because of the hot cocoa powder. On a typical Mickey beignet, you’ll find a dusting of sweet powdered sugar, and it really sweetens up the beignet, but the hot cocoa powder doesn’t do that quite as much. If you like a more subtly-sweet treat, this could be a good thing.

The fudge sauce was GREAT. It was thick, rich, and everything you’d want from a hot fudge dessert topping. We did notice that it has more of a dark chocolate taste than a milk chocolate taste, so it elevates the treat a bit more without making it overly sweet.

So, about that pipette of chocolate milk. We weren’t sure how this was going to go. We’re picky about textures, sometimes, alright? However, we REALLY enjoyed it. It softens up the breading quite a bit, and if you’re the type of person who loves to let your cereal soak in the milk before diving in, you’ll wanna utilize that pipette.

We didn’t expect to like it, but totally did

We’d recommend this snack to anyone who loves hot chocolate, beignets, or even chocolate in general. If you have issues with textures, you might not enjoy the chocolate milk pipette, but that’s the beauty of this treat. You totally don’t have to use the milk! We’d definitely suggest giving this a try this holiday season.
