Being prepared for anything on your Disney vacation is something we can’t stress enough.
Wait times can be long, your favorite ride might be closed for maintenance, and severe weather can impact your trip whether you’d like it or not. Disneyland visitors learned that firsthand on the evening of December 4th when an earthquake was felt in the parks.
KABC7 has reported a 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck at 8:09PM PT on Monday, December 4th, 2023 — just two miles north of Disneyland Resort. The epicenter was reported to be one mile east of Fullerton, California.
People at the epicenter of the earthquake reported feeling a single, strong jolt — but reports also came in from people who were at Disneyland and could feel the impact. In fact, Disney shut down 35 rides due to the strike.Â
No damage or injuries have been reported at this time, but we will let you know if that changes as officials are still assessing the situation.

Kent says
I was a Cast Member at Disneyland in 2019, and experienced a small earthquake that shook for several seconds. Since I am from Oregon and had never experienced an earthquake of any kind before, I was unsure what was happening at first, then I just kind of froze. It was over before I had fully processed it, but ever since then, I have occasionally experienced the strange sensation of not trusting my legs. It’s weird how subconsciously, the ground betrayed me. Something which was a constant is no longer certain, and it’s like my brain decided that any quiver of my body could be an earthquake.
