2024 is quickly approaching, and that means a LOT is about to change in Disney World.
Park Passes are going away for date-based tickets, all-day park hopping is returning as well as the Disney Dining Plan, and those are just in the month of January. If you’re staying at a Disney World Hotel in the first month of 2024, here’s a mistake you’ll want to try your hardest to avoid making.
In January, Disney World’s Skyliner will be closed temporarily from January 16th through 21st in 2024. This means that if you’re staying at a Skyliner hotel, one of the biggest transportation draws will be unavailable during this time.
It also means that to get to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios from a Skyliner resort, you’ll need to take a Disney bus instead, which is most people’s least favorite mode of transportation (and is often a lot more crowded).
Not only will it be harder to get to these parks, but if you’re looking to resort hop, or book a reservation at a Skyliner hotel, it’ll take a lot longer to get there. You’ll want to either take a Disney bus from your hotel to a park, and THEN to another hotel, or just take a rideshare to the hotel, which costs extra.
Overall, the Skyliner closure will affect some travel time and plans around Disney World, but there are ways to get around it. You just need to know about it ahead of time so you can have those plans in place before your trip begins! We’re always here to bring you the latest Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB!
