Florida may be the Sunshine State, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to plan for colder weather.
Winter is right around the corner and we are already starting to see lower temps affect the parks. On colder days, Disney will advertise more hot beverages, put warmer clothes on display, and even turn off certain water features like the spitting camel in Adventureland. Occasionally, the weather has an even bigger effect on the parks. Today, for instance, if you were hoping to visit Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, we have some bad news for you.
Today, December 11th, 2023, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will be closed due to colder weather.
From time to time, Disney will close its water parks when the weather drops if they are not expecting a lot of traffic. Fortunately, the park is scheduled to reopen tomorrow for its normal operating hours of 10AM to 5PM. Keep in mind that this is subject to change depending on weather conditions, so keep an eye out for any more updates.
If you do happen to visit Blizzard Beach before the end of the month, make sure to check out some of its festive offerings! The park celebrates the season with holiday fun, from a holiday-themed scavenger hunt to a tropical Santa meet-and-greet.

CMs at Blizzard have told us that Disney closes the park if the forecast temperature high is below 69. The decision is made a few days in advance so CMs can be deployed to other areas for shifts elsewhere in WDW. So definitely check the day before you are thinking of going.
