Tokyo Disney Resort is in for a big year in 2024.
Tokyo DisneySea is getting an eighth port — Fantasy Springs. This new addition to the park is set to open on June 6th, 2024, and will include three themed areas and a Disney hotel. Soon, visitors of the park will get to check out Frozen Kingdom, Rapunzel’s Forest, and Peter Pan’s Neverland, and stay at Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel. Now, there’s a new reason to visit Tokyo Disney Resort next year — a big change is coming to Space Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland!
According to Disney, Space Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland will close in 2024 to be completely transformed and will reopen in 2027.
In its final stretch before the closure, visitors can take part in “Celebrating Space Mountain: The Final Ignition!” starting on April 9th. These last journeys will take place up until July 31st, the final day of operation before it closes for its overhaul.
When Disney originally announced plans for the new version of the ride, they stated that it would have “enhanced performance and immersive special effects that will give guests even more thrills on this exciting rocket ride.”
