Disney World IS magic, and you can’t convince us otherwise.
That’s because Cast Members spend so much of their time and energy creating that magic, whether they’re sprinkling pixie dust on our heads, creating unique art out of water or flowers on Disney World’s sidewalks, or just offering us extra magic when something goes wrong. But we’ve got a story about how a Disney World GUEST created magic for a Cast Member (warning, get those tissues).
We recently met Cast Member Tanya, from Boston, Massachusetts, and she shared a sweet story with us. As you can see, she’s got a pin trading board. We had a question about pin trading, and as we approached, she apologized if she looked like she’d been crying. It turns out she’d just had an amazing interaction with a guest. (Seriously, get those tissues right now before you keep reading!)
Tanya told us that a guest had approached her to trade a pin and had asked her about her history with pin trading. Tanya explained to the guest that she didn’t grow up trading pins because her mother didn’t have extra money, so they couldn’t afford to. The guest then went into her own pin collection and picked out THIS pin of Kanga and Roo to represent Tanya and her mother to start Tanya’s pin collection.
We told you this would make you cry, but it also restores our faith in humanity. It’s such a sweet story, and we want to thank Tanya for sharing it with us and letting us share it with all of YOU.
Remember that you can make magic for Cast Members in a variety of ways, even if it’s just offering a Cast Compliment in the My Disney Experience app or even making sure to say “Thank you” every chance you get.
Stay tuned to DFB for more.
