Universal Studios has multiple theme parks around the United States and around the world.
You can step into the movies in the U.S. at Universal Orlando, Islands of Adventure, or Universal Studios Hollywood. Or head to parks in Singapore, Japan, or Beijing. If you’re a fan of movies like Harry Potter, Fast and the Furious, or Jurassic Park, then you may enjoy a trip to one of these parks. They certainly bring the action. Now, it seems, that Universal may be looking to expand to another country.
According to an exclusive reveal by the Bedford Independent, in the U.K., Universal Studios is reportedly considering adding its very first U.K. park.
There had been recent suspicion that this announcement was coming. There had been published records indicating land purchased by Universal in Bedford Borough but now, Universal has confirmed that they have indeed purchased the land and are considering adding a new park in Bedford Borough.
A spokesperson from Universal Destinations & Experiences stated, “We recently acquired land in Bedford [Borough] and are at the early stages of exploring its feasibility for a potential park and resort at this site. It will be many months before we are ready to make a decision to proceed and we look forward to engaging with all relevant stakeholders and the local community.”
According to the spokesperson, there is no creative content yet determined for the park, and they are “still very early in planning this potential project.” We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for any updates on whether this “potential project” becomes official.
