Sometimes creating movies and TV shows can be dangerous for the actors involved.
Fighting scenes and stunts can cause special safety hazards to those involved. While stunt doubles may be used, often actors will still have to engage in the more dangerous scenes. That is exactly what caused an accident in 2021 that now has a British actor suing Disney over an injury.
According to Deadline, during the filming of a fight scene against a nine-foot-tall ogre on the set of the show Willow, British actor, Ralph Ineson, sustained injuries during a fall that he is now suing Disney for.
The claim describes that Ineson was dressed as a knight while battling the ogre called, The Scourge, when he awkwardly fell and dislocated his shoulder. This has caused permanent shoulder damage which prevents him from filming other fight scenes, horse-riding, and other physical roles.
The lawsuit adds fault to Disney due to added pressures to complete filming by a deadline and lack of cleaning of the steps where Ineson fell. He is suing Disney for £150,000 or $190,500. We’ll be checking for updates as the lawsuit moves forward.
